The present invention is directed toward a lighting device of motor vehicle with an arrangement of at least two light conductors. Each conductor includes one coupling arm having a first cross section, a light conductor area with a second cross section, and a transition area located between the coupling arm and the light conductor area. The coupling arms include a respective first contact surface, and the transition areas of the light conductors include a respective second contact surface. The contact surfaces are formed in such a way that the coupling arm of the one light conductor inserts into the transition area of the respective other light conductor. Each one of the two coupling arms include deflectors on a rear side of the coupling arm, which deflect towards the front side, within a section of the transition area where each respective coupling arm fits into the other light conductor.

Lighting device in a motor vehicle with a light conductor arrangement

A light conductor with an input coupler which couples in light in such a way that inside the light conductor it is distributed into a first layer, parallel layers and into second layers, whereby each second layer is spanned by a perpendicular of the first layer and by a line located in the first layer, and with a light emitting area. Light is coupled such that it has a lower divergence in the second layers than in the first layers. There is a first deflection area between the input coupler and the light emitting area, which redirects light emitted from the input coupler incident on it in an angle bigger than the double of the critical angle of the total internal reflection. Further deflection areas are illuminated with light emitted from the first deflection area and direct the incident light into a preferred common direction for the further deflection areas.

A motor vehicle lighting device is proposed, having a light source, and having an optical waveguide, which has a coupling lens, which has at least one reflector, wherein the optical waveguide has first and second planes that are perpendicular to one another, and intersect, and wherein the lines of intersection are each defined by a light beam emitted from the reflector. The device is distinguished in that a transformation by the coupling lens occurs such that an aperture angle of propagation directions of the light beams lying in the second planes is reduced, and the aperture angle of propagation directions lying in the first planes is not altered, or is altered less strongly, and in that the optical waveguide has a transport and transformation lens, wherein the coupling lens and the transport and deflection lens are separate components.

Motor vehicle lighting device with an optical fiber having a coupling lens and a transport and conversion lens

The invention relates to an illumination device for an automobile with at least one light source () to emit light and at least one cup (or bowl)-shaped reflector () to reflect at least a portion of the light emitted by the light source (). The reflector () is formed as a light-conductor structure () with a totally-reflecting reflection surface (). The light-conductor structure () includes at least one light-coupling surface () and at least one light-decoupling surface (). The reflection surface () is formed as a border surface of the light-conductor structure (). It is proposed that either the light-coupling surface () and/or the light-decoupling surface () and/or the reflection surface () of the reflector () include means to deflect the light beams passing through them or reflected by them. Thus, the reflector () can form light radiated from the light source () in conjunction with light-coupling surfaces (), reflection surfaces (), and light-decoupling surfaces () to realize a desired light distribution.

Illumination device

The invention relates to a projection module for a headlight. The module generates light distributions with light sources switchable independently. In order to generate a first distribution, light from a first group is coupled into an optical element in the beam path. The optical element has a reflecting underside having a contour corresponding to the bright-dark boundary. The light coupled out from the optical element is projected by a lens for generating the first distribution. A further light group is additionally activated in order to generate a second distribution. The light emitted by this group illuminates a region of the light distribution above the bright-dark boundary. Part of the light from this group is coupled into the optical element, mixes there with the light from the first group and is then coupled out together to generate an unsharp bright-dark boundary.

Projection module for a motor vehicle headlight

The invention relates to an illumination device, particularly for automobiles, with a light source and a light conductor that emits the light from the light source conducted within it via a light decoupling surface, whereby light decoupling elements are positioned on the side opposite the light decoupling surface that divert light toward the light decoupling surface, whereby the light decoupling elements possess at least two diverting surfaces, and the first diverting surface is positioned closer to the light source than the second diverting surface of a light decoupling element, each of which subtends an angle with the light decoupling surface whereby the angles of the diverting surfaces are so selected that at least a portion of the light striking the second diverting surface is transmittable through it under refraction, and may be again coupled into the light conductor by means of the first diverting surface of the subsequent decoupling element, whereby this light is at least partially conducted from the first onto the second diverting surface of an decoupling element, and may be decoupled toward the decoupling surface by means of the second diverting surface.

A lamp for vehicles, in particular motor vehicles, has a light source and at least one light-guide arrangement associated with the light source for guiding the light radiated by the light source and coupled into the light-guide arrangement in a specified direction toward an outcoupling point. The lamp further has a light-diverting device in the light-guide arrangement for diverting and/or splitting the light. The light-diverting device is formed as a recess in the light-guide arrangement, and the diversion takes place by means of reflecting the light on one of the lateral surfaces of the recess. The recess is closed by means of a cover element, such that the recess is covered as viewed from the outside of the light-guide arrangement.

A headlight, in particular, for motor vehicles, has an elongated incandescent body () with an incandescent body longitudinal axis (), a reflector, associated with the incandescent body () for bundling of the light emitted from the incandescent body (), and a photoconductor (), in which the light emitted from the reflector () in the direction of an optical axis is coupled-in by means of a coupling-in surface () of the photoconductor (). The incandescent body longitudinal axis () forms an angle (&#x3b1;) with the optical axis () that is greater than 0 degrees.
