A method for brake lining wear detection is disclosed. The method comprises detecting a wear state of a brake lining installed in the area of a wheel housing and producing a state signal that indicates the wear state. The method also comprises coupling the state signal into at least one electrical line that leads to an evaluation unit for the state signal. The at least one electrical line also transmits at least one other signal from or to at least one other device installed in the area of the wheel housing.

The present disclosure relates to a method for operating a vehicle brake. The vehicle brake includes a hydraulic service brake having an actuating piston, which for generating a first braking force component is movable, under the action of a hydraulic pressure, into an actuating position in which the actuating piston presses a friction lining against a rotatingly supported brake disc, and an electric parking brake, with an actuating element, that is designed to build up a second braking force component that acts on the brake disc. The method includes ascertaining the hydraulic pressure, determining a first braking force component, establishing a second braking force component to be set by means of the parking brake, based on the first braking force component and a desired total braking force, and establishing a position of the actuating element of the parking brake to be set.

A motor vehicle system comprising a first electric parking brake actuation unit assigned to a first vehicle wheel, and a second electric parking brake actuation unit assigned to a second vehicle wheel. The system further comprises a first control unit which includes at least one first microprocessor and which is designed to control at least the first electric parking brake actuation unit and an anti-lock and/or vehicle stability control system. A second control unit of the system comprises at least one second microprocessor and is designed to control at least the second electric parking brake actuation unit and an electric braking power generator and/or an automatic transmission. In some variants, a separate parking brake control unit can be dispensed with as the braking brake control function is shared between control units that can be used for other purposes.

A motor vehicle system comprising a first electric parking brake actuation unit assigned to a first vehicle wheel, and a second electric parking brake actuation unit assigned to a second vehicle wheel. The system further comprises a first control unit which includes at least one first microprocessor and which is designed to control the first electric parking brake actuation unit and does not allow the second electric parking brake actuation unit to be controlled. Furthermore, a second control unit is provided which comprises at least one second microprocessor and which is designed to control the second electric parking brake actuation unit and does not allow the first electric parking brake actuation unit to be controlled. The redundancy of the two control units increases the system safety. At the same time, the system complexity remains low since no individual control unit has to be designed to control all of the electric parking brake actuation units.

A protective circuit arranged on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) has two conductor loops. At least one supply voltage track, at least one semiconductor switch and at least one control component are arranged on the PCB. A first terminal of the control component and a first terminal of the semiconductor switch are connected electrically. A first conductor loop of the protective circuit is arranged on the PCB so that it surrounds an electrically conducting connection between the supply voltage track and the semiconductor switch and/or the control component. A second conductor loop is arranged on the PCB so that it surrounds the electrically conducting connection between the first terminal of the control component and the first terminal of the semiconductor switch, and thereby screens the same from the semiconductor switch and at least from those regions of the control component that are also connected to the supply voltage track.
