A motor vehicle seat with a lying function has a seat cushion, a backrest which is arranged on a first end region of the seat cushion, and a calf support which can be elongated and which is arranged on a second end region of the seat cushion. The calf support is provided with a lifting device for lifting two outer support panels out of a rest position and into a support position which protrudes beyond a support surface of the calf support.

Motor vehicle seat with lying function

A method for operating an assistance system in a motor vehicle detects at least one odor profile using a respective odor sensor. The at least one odor profile is defined by concentrations of at least two odorous substances. The method carries out one or more assistance functions depending on the detected at least one odor profile.

Method and device for operating an assistance system in a motor vehicle

An adjustable vehicle seat includes a seat base having a seat surface and a backrest having a backrest surface. In the seat base and/or in the backrest, sensors are provided that detect forces, pressures and/or movements effected by a person sitting on the vehicle seat and consequently issue a signal. A control device is provided that detects the signals issued by the sensors and actuates actuators provided in the vehicle seat to adjust the seat base and/or backrest, or components thereof, in order to adjust the vehicle seat.

A seat having a backrest and a seat cushion includes rows of adjusting elements, respectively, which adjusting elements are arranged above one another, on both sides of the longitudinal center plane of the seat. By alternately applying the adjusting elements mutually arranged in a vertically staggered manner in the two halves of the seat, a rotational movement can be actively applied to a seat user's back and possibly pelvis, which rotational movement corresponds to the rotational movement of the back, and possibly of the pelvis, when walking.

Adjustable seat and method for controlling same

A supporting shell for a seat is provided by carrying out in-seat measurements with a plurality of test subjects, wherein the test subjects sit down on a measuring mat placed on a neutral seat frame. The measuring mat has a readily displaceable filling and adapts to the contour of the body of the respective test subject. After the test subject has sat down on the measuring mat and before the test subject leaves the same, the filling inside the measuring mat is fixed in place by applying a negative pressure. The geometric data of the surface contour of the measuring mat are determined and stored for each test subject. The measured surface contours are then superimposed onto one another. This produces an average surface contour which can subsequently be further altered slightly for adaptation to large seat users, and therefore a modified surface contour is created as a basis for the production of the supporting shell of the seat.

Process for producing a supporting shell for a seat

A method and a device for adjusting a seat are provided. The method includes the acts of detecting a pressure exerted by a user on the seat via a pneumatic sensor and/or a hydraulic sensor, and adjusting the seat based on the pressure exerted by the user. The device includes a pneumatic or hydraulic lifting element, a pneumatic or hydraulic pressure sensor connected to the lifting element, and a control unit connected to the pressure sensor. The pressure sensor detects a pressure exerted by a user on the seat, and the control unit controls the first lifting element to adjust the seat based on the pressure exerted by the user.

Method and device for adjusting a seat

A seat includes a bearing structure and a number of cushions. The cushions cover the entire area of the seat surface and the backrest of the seat. Each cushion is formed of a textile spacer structure held in a fluid-tight casing. The casing has a connection for a hose line. Before a user sits on the seat, the hose line is open to the outside air. Due to the force applied by the seat user, the cushion and spacer structure are compressed, whereby simultaneously air is displaced out of the cushion. The cushions thus experience a contouring according to the body shape of the seat user. After the user sits down, the contouring can be fixed by blocking device the hose line, and thus separating the reduced air volume in the inside of the cushion from the outside air. In this way, the contouring of the seat cushions is maintained when the seat user leaves the seat.
