A computer-implemented method is provided for evaluating a pilot tone signal. In the method, the pilot tone signal is recorded using a high-frequency coil arrangement of a magnetic resonance facility and describes a movement of a patient. The method also includes extracting movement information assigned to a movement component, (e.g., a respiratory movement). A breakdown or decomposition of the pilot tone signal is effected on a basis of signal components having assigned weightings and for the purpose of determining the movement information, a part of a base which is assigned to the movement component is selected by a selection criterion. For the purpose of determining the base and the weightings, a non-negative matrix factorization is performed, in the context of which a signal matrix, which is formed from the pilot tone signal and is in particular non-negative, is formulated as a product of a non-negative signal component matrix that describes the base and a non-negative weighting matrix that describes the weightings.

A method for performing 3D body imaging includes performing a 3D MRI acquisition of a patient to acquire k-space data and dividing the k-space data into k-space data bins. Each bin includes a portion of the k-space data corresponding to a distinct breathing phase. 3D image sets are reconstructed from the bins, with each 3D image set corresponding to a distinct k-space data bin. For each bin other than a selected reference bin, forward and inverse transforms are calculated between the 3D image set corresponding to the bin and the 3D image set corresponding to the reference bin. Then, a motion corrected and averaged image is generated for each bin by (a) aligning the 3D image set from each other bin to the 3D image set corresponding to the bin using the transforms, and (b) averaging the aligned 3D image sets to yield the motion corrected and averaged image.

In the method, at least one excitation signal having a first frequency band is output and receiving signals generated by the excitation signal are recorded with a receiving coil arrangement, (e.g., a receiving coil arrangement of a magnetic resonance device), having a plurality of receiving channels. The coils of the receiving coil arrangement are designed to record a receiving frequency band including the first frequency band, wherein for ascertaining the movement information the complex receiving signals of the receiving channels are combined at one instant according to a combination specification ascertained over a period by an analysis of the receiving signals that identifies at least one component of a movement that contributes to the sought movement.

A framework for facilitating visualization, including localizing at least one anatomical structure of interest in image data. The structure of interest is then highlighted by reformatting the image data by mapping landmarks associated with the structure of interest to corresponding points along a contour of a geometric shape and warping the image data based on the mapped landmarks. The resulting reformatted image data is rendered for display to a user.

In the magnetic resonance image data acquisition and apparatus, raw magnetic resonance data are acquired at multiple points along a trajectory in k-space from first and second magnetic resonance echo signals caused by a radio-frequency excitation pulse. The course of the trajectory in k-space is established by adjusting a magnetic field value of a gradient magnetic field. The gradient magnetic field has a field value of a first point in time of the trajectory curve and a subsequently modified and at a layer second point in time, the gradient magnetic field has the same field value as that said first point in time. The second point in time is before or during the acquisition of the raw magnetic resonance data of the first magnetic resonance echo signal. The shift value for the trajectory is determined and the trajectory is shifted according to this shift value, and an image is reconstructed from the shifted raw magnetic resonance data of the trajectory.

In an embodiment, a first and second gradient field are respectively created such that, at a respective first and second position at the edge of the field of view, a distortion caused by a non-linearity of the respective first and second gradient field, and a distortion caused by a Bo field inhomogeneity, cancel each other out.
