A method is for providing a second artifact-reduced x-ray image dataset based on an artifact-affected x-ray image dataset of an examination object, the artifact being caused by an object at least one of on, outside of and within the examination object. In an embodiment, the method includes creating a first artifact-reduced x-ray image dataset based on the artifact-affected x-ray image dataset, based on which a second projection dataset is created; identifying an object area which maps the object in the at least one projection; creating a third projection dataset based on the first projection dataset; and crating the second artifact-reduced x-ray image dataset based on the third projection dataset, through which the second artifact-reduced x-ray image dataset is provided.

Method and apparatus for providing an artifact-reduced x-ray image dataset

A method for correction of an input dataset is disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes acquisition of an input dataset comprising at least one data error; determination of a correction function; creation of a corrected output dataset by application of the correction function to the input dataset; and outputting of the corrected output dataset. The correction function is embodied to bring about a reduction of at least two data errors that mutually influence one another in the input dataset.

Data correction in X-ray imaging

A method and a system are for calculating an output from a tomographic scrollable image stack, including a large number of generated sectional images of a tissue to be examined. In this context, a tomographic scrollable image stack is received. An output for a display is calculated. The output includes a primary image that is intended for representing the received image stack, and the output includes a secondary image with additional information. The secondary image is displayed overlaid on the primary image once an unhide signal or hide signal is received. In this context, a reference may be provided between the additional information of the secondary image and the slice of tissue for examination that is shown in the sectional image of the image stack.

Method and system for calculating an output from a tomographic scrollable image stack

A method is for the reconstruction of an image data set from projection images of an examination object recorded at different projection directions with a computed tomography apparatus. In an embodiment, the method includes establishing an item of contour information describing a contour of at least one of the examination object and the additional object; enhancing projection data of the projection images via forward projection in regions in which at least one of the examination object and the additional object was not acquired; and reconstructing the image data set based upon the projection data enhanced. The examination object and the additional object are acquired from sensor data of at least one camera. Finally, an item of sensor information at least partially describing at least one of the is of the examination object and of the additional object being established and used for establishing the contour information.

Method for the reconstruction of an image data set of computed tomography, computed tomography apparatus, computer program and electronically readable data carrier

A method is used to calibrate a light unit, including at least one light source, the light unit being part of a medical imaging apparatus. In an embodiment, the method includes positioning a calibration phantom at a calibration position, in particular a first calibration position; arranging the light source so that its beam illuminates the photodetector at least partially; starting or continuing the recording of light intensities using the photodetector; modulating the signal of the light source at least once; rotating the light beam around a given rotation axis while recording the rotational position; synchronizing the time values of the rotational position of the light beam and the acquired signal intensities using the modulation of the light signal; and mapping the rotational position, in particular the rotation angle, of the light beam to a spatial position using the light intensities recorded by the photodetector.
