A touch probe is provided, including a deflectable stylus with a rest position mechanism on which the stylus is arranged, and a housing in which the rest position mechanism is accommodated. The rest position mechanism comprises a stylus holder with carrying elements and seating elements corresponding to the carrying elements that interact with the carrying elements to arrange the stylus holder in the touch probe. The carrying elements and seating elements form a sensing circuit which is closed when the carrying elements are in contact with the seating elements and which is open when one of the carrying elements is not in contact with a corresponding seating element. The rest position mechanism includes a spring element, which urges the stylus holder against the seating elements to position the stylus holder. Setting means, which allow setting of the pressing force of the spring element, are provided in the stylus holder.

Touch probe

A touch probe is provided, including a deflectable stylus with a rest position mechanism on which the stylus is arranged, and a housing in which the rest position mechanism is accommodated. The rest position mechanism includes a stylus holder with carrying elements and seating elements corresponding to the carrying elements that interact with the carrying elements to arrange the stylus holder in the touch probe. The carrying elements and seating elements form a sensing circuit which is closed when the carrying elements are in contact with the seating elements and which is open when one of the carrying elements is not in contact with a corresponding seating element. The carrying elements are provided with electrical contacting means that is formed independently of a clamping device.

The filaments in a weft thread or yarn in a pneumatic loom are tangled and consolidated to prevent untangling of the weft thread when it is transported, after the tangling, through the weft insertion channel in a loom shed. For this purpose the leading end of the weft thread is temporarily stopped in a weft insertion nozzle pipe by a first air stream the so-called holding air stream () with a first pressure (P) between two weaving cycles following each other for holding the weft thread stretched. At the same time a second air stream () having a higher pressure (P) than the first pressure (P) and a different flow direction than the first air stream () is applied to or along a leading end portion of the weft thread for tangling the filaments and thereby locking or consolidating the filaments in the weft thread. Each weft insertion nozzle pipe has a first port and a second port through which the first and second air streams are introduced into the weft insertion the nozzle pipe. The second port is positioned downstream of the first port and closer to a free exit end () of the respective weft insertion nozzle pipe but still spaced from the free exit end.

Method and apparatus for entangling filaments in a weft yarn on a weaving loom with pneumatic weft insertion

An arrangement for supplying air with a controlled pressure to the main weft insertion nozzles of an air jet loom includes a single servovalve connected between a pressurized air source, an air vent, and a pressure manifold, and individual shut-off valves respectively interposed in branch lines connected from the pressure manifold to the individual nozzles. A pressure sensor measures the actual pressure provided to the manifold. An electronic controller receives a pressure control signal and controls the servovalve responsive to any difference between the pressure control signal and the actual measured pressure signal. The arrangement is simple, economical, and rapidly reacting, to avoid the need of individual throttle valves or pressure regulators for the individual nozzles.

Air supply controller for weft insertion nozzles in an air jet loom

The removal or transport of cut-off catch selvages in a loom is monitored by one or more sensors which produce a sensor output signal that represents the actual movement of the cut-off catch selvage. The sensor output signal is processed in an evaluation processor for producing a fault signal if and when the sensor output signal deviates from a predetermined standard or reference signal. The fault signal is used to trigger an alarm and/or stop the loom.
