Methods, systems, and apparatuses are provided for measuring a display latency. A video capturing device is configured to capture a video of a reference light flash of a light emitter of a computing device. In the same video, the video capturing device is configured to capture a flash of a predetermined image displayed in a reference frame on a display screen coupled to the computing device. The video is analyzed to determine a time difference between the reference light flash of the light emitter and the flash of the predetermined image on the display screen. The determined time difference is compared with a reference time difference to determine a display latency, and the display latency may be provided to a user. In this manner, a display latency may be determined accurately and with readily available hardware, thus reducing the need to rely on expensive and specialized measuring equipment.

Method and device for capturing images of a target object using image templates at a device are disclosed. The method includes rendering an image template on the display for determining a position of the target object in an image to be captured using the device; capturing a first image of the target object using the image sensor and displaying the captured first image on the display while keeping the image template on the display; extracting one or more features associated with the position of the target object from the captured first image; determining whether the one or more features extracted from the captured first image match the image template; and generating an alert signal in accordance with a determination that at least one of the one or more features extracted from the captured first image matches the image template.

User devices capture an image of a scene, and determine a location based on the scene image. The scene image may be compared to cartography data or images to determine the location. User devices may propose an origin and orientation or transformation data for a common coordinate system and exchange proposed coordinate system data to agree on a common coordinate system. User devices may also transmit location information to an augmented reality system that then determines an a common coordinate system and transmits coordinate system data such as transformation matrices to the user devices. Images presented to users may be adjusted based on user device locations relative to the coordinate system.

The following discloses antialiasing systems and methods. Information about one or more fragments or primitives in a pixel area may be dynamically stored. The stored information may include, for example, depth, color, location and coverage. The coverage and depth information may be tracked at a higher frequency across the pixel than the number of fragments or primitives. Fragments or primitives that enter into a pixel area may be compared with fragments or primitives that have been stored. The comparisons may be based on depth and coverage. Either the incoming fragment or the stored fragment may be deleted based on the comparisons. Information associated with fragments that are preserved may be sampled at any location associated with their coverage area of a pixel. Fragments or primitives that are not discarded may be preserved for a final resolve process, which may incorporate information available from neighboring pixel areas.

The content of such a message is controlled by filtering the message based on defined criteria. The criteria may be defined according to a parental control application. A lazy updating based on delaying updates of newly inserted records combined with a master-staging partitioning scheme avoid deterioration of performance arising from updating indexes related to new records inserted in a database. Table partitioning as well as partitioning of indexes associated with the table allow new records to reside in manageable sections of memory for pre-configured periods of times prior to being updated. To avoid deterioration of performance associated with increasing size of table/index partitions, the size is maintained below specific thresholds that can be determined based on query workload and other historical data. Deployment of partitions among file systems and design of update delay times can further increase performance of lazy updating.

Performing parallel comparisons of variables to determine program code execution flow or to compare multiple variables is disclosed. Memory locations are packed with multiple sub-variables for comparison to sub-variables generated, for example, at runtime. Each binary sub-variable includes a 'carryout' bit used to determine whether a comparison of one sub-variable with another sub-variable results in a 'true' or a &#x201c;false.&#x201d; A modified version of twos complement arithmetic is performed on a set of sub-variables. The modified version involves inverting each bit of the sub-variables, performing a masking operation to change the carryout bits to 0, adding a binary 1 to each sub-variable, and performing the masking operation a second time to change the carryout bits to 0. The result of the modified twos complement arithmetic is added to a variable, and the carryout bit of each sub-variable of the resulting variable is evaluated.
