Device querying of service entitlement is presented herein. A method can comprise receiving a provisioning rule representing that a barred service is to be excluded from a group of available services that are available to a subscriber, receiving, from a user equipment, a first message representing that the user equipment is equipped to facilitate a performance of the barred service, in response to receiving, from the user equipment, a second message comprising a request for the group of available services, and in response to determining, based on the first message, that the user equipment is equipped to facilitate the performance of the barred service, excluding the barred service from the group of available services resulting in a modified group of available services, and sending a third message comprising the modified group of available services directed to the user equipment.

Device querying of service entitlement status

A system and method for initiating communications between a first wireless device and a second wireless device. The method includes the steps of detecting the status of the first wireless device, notifying the second wireless device via a scrolling ticker message based on the detecting step and establishing a communication session between the first and second wireless devices. The detecting step includes generating an alert based on a predefined event. The system for establishing a communication path between a first mobile device and a second mobile device includes an IMS core, a presence server communicatively coupled to the IMS core and in communication with the first mobile device, a scrolling ticker server in communication with the presence server and with the second mobile device, wherein the presence server communicates availability of the first mobile device and the scrolling ticker notifies the second mobile device of the availability of the first mobile device.

Dynamic scrolling-ticker for initiating telecommunications services

A presence-based capability discovery mechanism for in-call services in the rich communication services (RCS) release 6 suite of services is provided. A method can comprise receiving a unique identifier representing a communication between a first user device and a second user device, the unique identifier comprising a concatenation of a first string, a second string, and a third string, as a function of the second string, performing a look up of a first presence tuple associated with the first user device; and associating the unique identifier to first presence tuple.

In-call services using presence

Providing a multimedia message service (MMS) in an Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) network is described herein. A method can include establishing a first session initiation protocol (SIP) session between a source IMS device and a next generation multimedia message service center (NG MMSC), encapsulating, at the source IMS device, an MMS message in a message session relay protocol (MSRP) message, transmitting the MSRP message from the IMS device to the NG MMSC; and storing the MMS message at the NG MMSC for further delivery to the destination device. Proving the multimedia message service can further include transmitting the MMS message to a destination legacy device via legacy MMS protocols or transmitting the MMS message to a destination IMS device via MSRP. Furthermore, providing the multimedia message service can include receiving a legacy MMS message and delivering the MMS message to a destination IMS device via MSRP.

IMS and MMS Interworking

A method and system for converting data message formats in a message server is provided. The message server receives a first data message including origin format information from a first user. The message server then sends the first data message including origin format information to a second user. The message server receives a second data message from a second user, the second data message including the origin format. The second data message is converted to the origin format if the first user is unable to receive the second data message. The message server then sends the converted second data message to the first user.

Method and apparatus for messaging service internetworking

Providing multimedia message service (MMS) in an Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) network can include establishing a first session initiation protocol (SIP) session between a source IMS device and a next generation multimedia message service center (NG MMSC), encapsulating, at the source IMS device, an MMS message in a message session relay protocol (MSRP) message, transmitting the MSRP message from the IMS device to the NG MMSC; and storing the MMS message at the NG MMSC for further delivery to the destination device. Proving the multimedia message service can further include transmitting the MMS message to a destination legacy device via legacy MMS protocols or transmitting the MMS message to a destination IMS device via MSRP. Furthermore, providing the multimedia message service can include receiving a legacy MMS message and delivering the MMS message to a destination IMS device via MSRP.

IMS and MMS interworking

Devices, systems, and methods are provided to send an alert to a called party communications device during a call setup phase and to present the alert to a called party during an alert portion of the call setup phase. Other devices, systems, and methods are provided that allow a calling party to remotely and securely access at least one host computer by sending a security phrase during a call setup phase and presenting the security phrase to the host computer to determine if by way of comparison to a voice print if the calling party is a valid user.

Methods and systems for controlling calling party access to called device

Alternative methods can include receiving a legacy MMS message and delivering the MMS message to a destination IMS device via MSRP. Systems for providing MMS in an IMS network are also described.

A server subsystem is presented for mobile communication that provides for efficient and logical movement between applications on different servers. Multiple applications may be used simultaneously and interactively using the server system presented herein.

Dynamic event server subsystem utilizing session initiation protocol

A method includes receiving a registration request including a first dictionary definition. The registration request is associated with user equipment. The method includes transmitting to the user equipment a response including a second dictionary definition. The method includes transmitting subsequent messages to the user equipment if the first and second dictionary definitions agree, the subsequent messages being compressed using the first static dictionary.

Optimizing static dictionary usage for signal compression and for hypertext transfer protocol compression in a wireless network

Availability of common features (e.g. device functions and/or subscription plan features) associated with two or more communication devices can be detected, and data indicative of commonly supported features can be provided to at least one of the two communication devices. Disclosed systems can include components that can audit communication devices and communication networks to determine features supported by a communication, and components that can selectively mask unsupported features and/or reveal supported features.
