The present disclosure relates to pyrrolidine-based catalysts for use in a polyurethane formulation. The polyurethane formulation includes the pyrrolidine-based catalyst, a compound containing an isocyanate functional group, an active hydrogen-containing compound. The use of such catalysts produces high quality polyurethane foam while reducing environmental concerns that can arise during the production of polyurethane foam as well as in the foam that is produced.

The present disclosure provides water-based well treatment fluids for use in treating subterranean formations to prevent swelling and/or migration of fines. The water-based well treatment fluid contains an aqueous continuous phase, a clay stabilizing agent consisting of an alkylated polyetheramine and a weighting material. In addition to inhibiting swelling and/or migration, the water-based well treatment fluids are thermally stable, are toxicologically safe, and have exceptional handling properties.

The present invention relates to a process for producing an odorless and colorless industrial grade propylene glycol from glycerol obtained during the manufacturing of biodiesel. The present invention provides a process for producing a vanadium/phosphorus oxide catalyst by (i) preparing a catalyst precursor powder containing vanadium, phosphorus and an optional promoter element; (ii) converting the catalyst precursor powder into an activated catalyst by heat treatment; (iii) and compressing the activated catalyst into a desired shape to form the vanadium/phosphorus oxide catalyst. Provided herein are polyamine precursors useful in the manufacture of epoxy resins. Use of a polyamine precursor according to the invention provides an epoxy resin formulation having an increased working time over prior art amines used for curing epoxies. Increased working times translate to the ability to manufacture composites which could not be made using conventional epoxy curing agents, such as composite blades for wind-driven turbines. Such polyamines are also useful in polyurea formulations for lengthening reaction time, thus allowing more flow of applied polyurea coatings prior to gellation.
