An optical device has a post and a reference. A knob is rotatably connected to the optical device and has see-though portions and a gear pivotably disposed therein. The gear has a ring engagement member and a receiver for receiving the post and an inner ring is disposed within the housing. The inner ring includes a first indicia and second indicia. The first indicia are aligned with the plurality of see-through portions when the gear is in a first position. The second indicia are aligned with the plurality of see-through portions when the gear is in a second position. Each of the first and second indicia is associated with a single specific rotated position of the housing relative to the reference.

An optical device has a housing and an adjustment ring rotatably disposed about the housing. The adjustment ring defines a channel. A lever selectively engages with the channel and may be used to rotate the adjustment ring.

Optical device having removable optical setting lever

An apparatus includes a mounting ring and a collar. The mounting ring includes an upper ring portion and a lower ring portion secured to the upper ring portion. Each of the upper ring portion and the lower ring portion has an inner ring surface defined by a plurality of radii. The collar is disposed in the mounting ring and includes a substantially cylindrical outer collar surface. The substantially cylindrical outer collar surface is disposed proximate the inner ring surface.

Self-aligning optical sight mount

An optical device housing has a post rotatably extending therefrom and a sleeve fixedly extending therefrom. The sleeve is disposed about the post and a knob is connected to the post. A nut rotatably engages with the sleeve and is configured to rotate with the knob. An adjustment screw is threadably engaged with the nut and engages with the knob so as to rotate with the knob. Rotation of the adjustment screw about a screw axis increases a frictional resistance between the nut and the sleeve.

An optical device housing has a post rotatably extending therefrom and a sleeve fixedly extending therefrom. The sleeve is disposed around the post. A knob is connected to the post. A clutch mechanism includes: a friction element movably engaged with the sleeve; a friction surface; and an adjustment element engaged with the friction element and rotatable relative to the optical device housing and the knob housing. Rotation of the adjustment element selectively engages the friction surface with the interior surface.
