Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion having a face portion for striking a golf ball and an enclosed interior cavity. A filler material may be inside the interior cavity and may reinforce the face portion. The filler material may include a low density polymer material to enable discretionary mass placement to other areas of the golf club head to improve certain mass properties of the golf club head. Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion having a hosel portion configured to attach to a shaft and located heel-ward of a center longitudinal plane, the horizontal plane being parallel to a ground plane, and the vertical plane being perpendicular to the horizontal plane, the ground plane, and the center longitudinal plane. A center of gravity of the golf club head is located on an intersection between the horizontal plane and the vertical plane. The hosel portion is configured to orient the shaft such that a shaft axis intersects the horizontal plane and the vertical plane at an intersection point located toe-ward from the center of gravity. Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a putter-type golf club head includes a body portion and a retention cavity extending into the body portion and having an opening and one or more interior side walls. The retention cavity defines two or more ball retention areas for frictionally engaging and retaining a golf ball within the retention cavity. The two or more ball retention areas frictionally engage the golf ball along a ball circumference located above an equator of the golf ball at a distance greater than or equal to 0.050 inches (0.127 centimeters) and less than or equal to 0.070 inches (0.178 centimeters). The golf club head has a head mass greater than or equal to 300 grams and less than or equal to 400 grams. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.

Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion, a first set of ports extending in a heel-to-toe direction, a second set of ports extending in a heel-to-toe direction, a first cavity portion between the first set of ports and the face portion, a second cavity portion between the second set of ports and the rear portion, a first filler material in the first cavity portion, and a second filler material in the second cavity portion. The distance between each port of the first set of ports and the face portion is less than a distance between each port of the second set of ports and the face portion. Embodiments of golf clubs heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head includes a hosel portion coupled to a golf shaft. The hosel portion is disposed within a space bounded by a center longitudinal plane, a heel boundary plane, a front boundary plane, and a lateral plane parallel to the front boundary plane. The hosel portion is intersected by a heel dividing plane parallel to and equidistant from the center longitudinal plane and the heel boundary plane. The hosel portion is configured to orient the shaft axis toe-ward relative to a center of gravity (CG) location of the golf club head. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.

Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head includes a body portion having a toe portion, a heel portion, a front portion, a rear portion, a top portion, and a sole portion. A retention cavity is located at the sole portion and includes an opening and a plurality of interior side walls connected to the opening. The plurality of interior side walls define two or more ball retention areas configured to frictionally engage at least a portion of a golf ball within the retention cavity. The two or more ball retention areas are located at or proximate the opening and frictionally engage the golf ball along a ball circumference located above an equator of the golf ball.
