Systems and methods for dynamically inserting content into webpages. A computing device can receive an information resource. The computing device can receive a content item for insertion at one of the candidate content insertion locations of the information resource. The computing device can identify candidate content insertion locations for insertion of the content item based on locations of one or more elements on the information resource. The computing device can monitor for a scroll event on the information resource. The computing device can identify a portion of the information resource to be displayed within the viewport of the application subsequent to processing the event. The computing device can determine that one of the candidate insertion locations is within or below the viewport. The computing device can set a content slot at the determined content insertion location. The computing device can insert, at the content slot, the content item.

Systems and methods for dynamically inserting content item slots in an information resource

Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media that may be used to provide an adaptive user interface with a reduced data transmission payload are provided. One method includes identifying a plurality of data files available for transmission to a client device, each of the plurality of data files transmitted as a set of data packets having a payload comprising an amount of data, each of the plurality of data files having different payloads and causing the client device to display a respective user interface component within a user interface on the client device. The method further includes determining a property of the client device and/or a user associated with the client device and selecting a data file from among the plurality of data files in response to the property. The method further includes causing the selected data file to be transmitted to the client device.

At least one aspect is directed to a method of a method of automatically managing placement of content slots in an information resource. The method includes a data processing system receiving, from a computing device, a request for content and, in response, transmitting a content slot insertion script to the computing device. The content slot insertion script, when executed, can cause the computing device to identify one or more Document Object Model (DOM) elements included in the DOM tree of the information resource and determine one or more candidate third-party content placement locations according to a third-party content placement policy. The second plurality of computer-executable instructions, when executed on the computing device, can also cause the computing device to select, from the candidate third-party content placement locations, a third-party content placement location in the DOM tree and display a third-party content item at the selected ad placement location.

Systems and methods for automatically managing placement of content slots in an information resource

A system and method including receiving sets of sensor data associated with sensors configured to monitor one or more systems. Sensor fingerprints are generated for each set of sensor data based on the sensor data. At least one proximity value is computed for each sensor by comparing the fingerprint of that sensor with another fingerprint. Clusters of similar sensors are identified based at least upon the proximity values of the sensors.

A computing device can identify an information resource including a content object specifying one or more graphical characteristics. The computing device can determine that the content object corresponds to a restricted content object by applying at least one of an action-based detection policy to detect actions performed on the information resource or a visual-based detection policy to detect the graphical characteristics of the content object. The computing device can modify by applying a content rendering restriction policy the information resource to alter rendering of the content element on the information resource responsive to the determination.

Systems and methods for dynamically restricting the rendering of unauthorized content included in information resources

Systems and methods for deploying countermeasures against unauthorized scripts interfering with the rendering of content elements on information resources are provided herein. A computing device can receive an information resource including a content rendering verification script and a first content element. The computing device can execute the script. The computing device can render the first content element for display on the information resource in a first format. The computing device can determine that the first content element is not successfully displayed in the first format. The computing device can render the first content element for display on the information resource in a second format, responsive to the determination. The computing device can determine that the first content element is successfully displayed in the second format. The computing device can display a second content element of the information resource responsive to the determination.

Systems and methods for deploying countermeasures against unauthorized scripts interfering with the rendering of content elements on information resources

Systems and methods restrict content inserted into information resources. A computing device can identify a content element included in an information resource. The computing device can identify a bit stream corresponding to the content element included in the information resource. The computing device can hash the identified bit stream to generate an element identifier corresponding to the content element. The computing device can access a restricted content database using the element identifier. The computing device can modify, responsive to finding the element identifier in the restricted content database, the presentation of the content element on the information resource in accordance with the content restriction policy.

Hash-based dynamic restriction of content on information resources

Systems and methods for restricting content inserted into information resources are provided herein. A computing device can identify a content element included in an information resource. The computing device can identify a bit stream corresponding to the content element included in the information resource. The computing device can hash the identified bit stream to generate an element identifier corresponding to the content element. The computing device can access a restricted content database using the element identifier. The computing device can modify, responsive to finding the element identifier in the restricted content database, the presentation of the content element on the information resource in accordance with the content restriction policy.

When a client device loads a resource, a request for a first content item for a first content item slot is transmitted to a content item selection system. The content item selection system uses a predictive model to determine a predicted content item slot based on a document object model position of the first content item slot and a URL of the resource or a publisher identifier. Parameters for the predicted content item slot are used to select a subsequent content item for the predicted content item slot. The first content item and the subsequent content item are transmitted to the client device responsive to the request. The subsequent content item includes metadata indicative of the parameters of the predicted content item slot to be matched to a subsequent content item slot of the resource.

This document describes computer-implemented systems, methods, devices, and other techniques for reducing the amount of redundant third-party content that is transported over a network for presentation with an electronic document. In some implementations, a computing system includes a deduplication apparatus that determines, in response to identifying that a particular instance of third-party content has previously been selected for display in a particular presentation of the electronic document, and based at least on a display characteristic of the electronic document, whether one or more other instances of third-party content that are deemed redundant to the particular instance of third-party content are eligible for selection responsive to the request.
