In a second condition, the volume is passable through the seat. In a third condition the volume becomes a filtration media. A method for managing a borehole operation, including conveying an object to a landing seat in a borehole system, functioning the landing seat through application of pressure against the object on the landing seat, passing at least a portion of the object through the landing seat, and changing the at least a portion of the object into a filtration media after passing through the landing seat. An apparatus includes a housing configured to be disposed in a borehole in a resource bearing formation, the housing including an axially extending fluid conduit configured to receive borehole fluid, and a seating assembly including a convertible component that is configured to be actuated to move the convertible component in a radial direction between an open position and a seating position. The convertible component extends radially into the fluid conduit and forms a landing seat for an object when in the seating position, and the convertible component allows passage of the object therethrough when in the open position.

A frac sleeve assembly and method of operation. The frac sleeve assembly includes a ball seat that retains a frac ball. The ball seat moves within a sleeve. The sleeve includes a profile that separates the first half and the second half to allow passage of the frac ball through the ball seat when the ball seat moves within the sleeve. Alternatively, the ball seat has a ring for receiving the frac ball and the sleeve has a protrusion that selectively engages a shifting pin to move the ring with respect to a ridge to release the ball from the ball seat when the ball seat moves within the sleeve.

A frac sleeve assembly for use in a downhole operation and method of use are disclosed. The frac sleeve assembly includes a sleeve movable within a housing and a ball seat movable within the sleeve. The sleeve includes a pin adjusting element. The ball seat includes a seat tooth disposed at a fluid passage of the ball seat for seating a ball, and a pin associated with the seat tooth. Motion of the ball seat within the sleeve causes the pin adjusting element to move the pin to adjust the seat tooth to release the ball.

A production system and a frac sleeve assembly of a frac assembly of the production system. The frac sleeve assembly includes a funnel section that reduces in diameter in a direction of an outlet of the frac assembly, a throat section having a selected diameter, and a ball seat at an intersection of the funnel section and the throat section for receiving a ball. When seated in the ball seat, an entire portion of a ball extending into the funnel section is exposed to disintegrating fluid in the funnel section.

A method of treating and producing formation fluids includes introducing a first drop ball into a string of tubulars, pumping the first drop ball to a first ball seat, applying pressure to the first drop ball to shift a first sleeve exposing an outlet port, introducing a second drop ball into the string of tubulars, pumping the second drop ball to a second ball seat, applying pressure to the second drop ball to shift a second sleeve closing the outlet port and opening an inlet port, and introducing a fluid through at least one of a first injection port directly onto the first drop ball and a second injection port directly onto the second drop ball. The first injection port is arranged upwardly of the first sleeve and the second injection port is arranged upwardly of the second sleeve.
