A method of manufacturing a motor, which begins with robotically positioning a flexible insulating sleeve over a first motor sub-assembly to produce a second motor sub-assembly. The first motor sub-assembly includes a motor assembly and an end-cap. The motor assembly includes a stator, a rotor, and wiring connected to the stator. The end-cap includes an electrical fitting for feeding the wiring externally of the motor. The method continues with robotically positioning a flexible enclosure, that includes a formed housing section and a connecting section, loosely over the second motor sub-assembly. The method continues with tightening the connecting section until the formed housing section tightly fits over the second sub-assembly compressing the flexible insulating sleeve to produce an insulating seal.

Pull tight motor housing

A motor includes a motor assembly, an end cap, a flexible insulating sleeve, and a flexible enclosure. The motor assembly includes a stator, a rotor, and wiring connected to the stator. The end-cap is coupled to the motor assembly to produce first sub-assembly. In addition, the end-cap includes an electrical fitting for feeding the wiring externally of the motor. The flexible insulating sleeve fits over at a least a portion the first sub-assembly to produce a second sub-assembly. The flexible enclosure includes a formed housing section and a connecting section. The formed housing section loosely fits over the second sub-assembly prior to tightening of the connecting section and, when the connecting section is tightened, the formed housing section tightly fits over the second sub-assembly compressing the flexible insulating sleeve to produce an insulating seal.

A universal driven shaft retaining system includes a collet chuck holder that circumferentially engages a collet chuck with substantially inward compression during inward co-linear movement of a drawing bar creating a clamping (locking) effect on an inserted driven shaft.

Collet locking shaft assembly

A motor includes a rotor and a stator. The stator is operable to electromagnetically induce movement of the rotor and includes stator teeth and a motor-board. A stator tooth includes a core material, a plurality of winding segments, and a bobbin. The bobbin includes a core receptacle for mechanically engaging the core material, radial-orientated sections to support and electrically isolate the winding segments, and connectors for electrically coupling the winding segments. The motor-board includes electrical receptacles for electrically mating with the connectors for each of the winding segments and traces for coupling the winding segments to a power source.

Bobbin wound motor

A motor-gearbox assembly includes a housing, a motor, and a gearbox. The housing includes a first alignment mechanism and a second alignment mechanism. The first alignment mechanism is at a first end of the housing and the second alignment mechanism is at a second end of the housing. The motor is mechanically positioned within the housing in accordance with the first alignment mechanism. The gearbox is mechanically positioned within the housing in accordance with the second alignment mechanisms to mechanically couple to the motor.

Motor-gearbox assembly

An axial flux stator includes a plurality of magnetically permeable members, a plurality of windings, a back iron, and an encasing. The plurality of windings is associated with the plurality of magnetically permeable members to produce a plurality of winding-magnetically permeable member assemblies. The back iron is mechanically butt joint coupled to the plurality of winding-magnetically permeable member assemblies. The encasing maintains the butt joint coupling of the back iron to the plurality of winding-magnetically permeable member assemblies.
