An aircraft landing gear assembly and method method of constructing an aircraft landing gear component. The assembly includes a ground contacting part, an aircraft attachment part, and a component. The component includes a first base member and a second base member separated along a first longitudinal axis, a plurality of first connecting points on the first base member arranged in a first regular polygon, a plurality of second connecting points on the second base member arranged in a second regular polygon. The second regular polygon has the same number of sides as the first regular polygon, and a plurality of first straight beams fixed to the first and second base members at the first and second connecting points and extending between the first and second base members, each beam aligned skew to the longitudinal axis.

An aircraft landing gear component having first and second base members, separated along a first longitudinal axis, a plurality of first parallel hoops, each first hoop lying along the first longitudinal axis and aligned in a plane oriented at a first non-zero angle to the first longitudinal axis, and a plurality of second parallel hoops, each second hoop lying along the first longitudinal axis and aligned in a plane oriented at a second non-zero angle to the first longitudinal axis, the second non-zero angle being different from the first non-zero angle, wherein each of the first hoops intersects with and is fixed to at least one of the second hoops, and wherein each of the second hoops intersects with and is fixed to at least one of the first hoops, such that the first and second hoops form a rigid structure extending between the first and second base members.

Aircraft landing gear component

A brake rod assembly for an aircraft landing gear. The brake rod assembly includes a support member, a first brake rod having a first pivot point and a second pivot point, and a second brake rod. The support member is coupled to the first pivot point, the second brake rod is coupled to the second pivot point, and the first and second pivot points are longitudinally spaced apart along a first portion of the first brake rod.

An aircraft landing gear assembly having a main strut and an axle on which wheel and brake assemblies are mounted. An adaptor member is mounted on a mounting pin and arranged to define a brake rod anchor point. The adaptor member is coupled to a part of the landing gear assembly so as to react brake torque and can be formed from a different material than a portion of the main strut.

An aircraft landing gear includes an axle on which wheel and brake assemblies are mounted. An adaptor member is mounted on the axle and arranged to define a brake rod connection point that is distinct from a conventional brake rod connection point defined by the brake assembly. The adaptor member is coupled to the brake assembly via an adaptor linkage that is arranged to react brake torque but arranged to permit relative movement between the adaptor member and the brake assembly in degrees of freedom which are not required to react brake torque.
