A combined sheet bending brake, coil holder and cut-off mechanism that includes a sheet bending brake having a support base, and elongated fixed and movable clamping members carried by the support base so as to clamp sheet stock extending longitudinally between the clamping members. A coil holder has a support frame removably cantilevered from one end of the support base. A trolley is removably mounted on the support frame, and has a pair of spaced rollers that extend axially in a direction transverse to the elongated fixed and movable clamping members on the brake for extending through and rotatably supporting a coil of sheet stock. Bars are carried by said support frame for releasably clamping a stock end extending from a coil on the trolley. A cut-off mechanism is removably mountable on the coil holder for severing sheet end stock extending from the holder into said bending brake. The coil holder has structure for guidingly supporting the cut-off mechanism for controlled severing of end stock clamped by said clamping bars.

An automatic indexer a portable sheet bending brake having a first longitudinally extending member forming a clamp surface, a second longitudinally extending member movable with respect to the first member for clamping sheet material against the clamp surface, and a third member pivotally coupled to the second member for bending sheet material clamped between the first and second members over a bending anvil on the forward edge of the second member. The indexer includes a pair of slides having means for mounting the slides parallel to each other and spaced from each other lengthwise of the clamp surface on the bending brake. A pair of carriages are each slidably disposed on one of the slides, and a bar extends longitudinally between the carriages for engagement with an edge of sheet material inserted between the first and second members of the sheet bending brake. The carriages are resiliently biased toward the clamp surface of the sheet bending brake, and means are coupled to the carriages for relating distance between the anvil to the edge of sheet material in engagement with the bar. This distance is either a direct measure to the edge of the anvil for forming indexed bends, or an offset distance with respect to the anvil for indexing the sheet material for a cut employing a manual slitter that cuts the material at a predetermined offset distance from the anvil edge. Thus, the indexer automatically squares the cut or bend to the edge in engagement with the indexer, and automatically positions the bend or cut with respect to the anvil edge as controlled by the indexer.

An improved roof ventilator is disclosed for venting an attic space while simultaneously admitting sunlight into same. One version of the invention comprises a base/flange having a centrally extruding conduit therethrough, a louvered hood member connectable to the conduit wall to achieve a fixed elevation thereby creating a baffle which restricts water infiltration. The hood further comprises a translucent oriel which is self-aligning to the conduit opening upon the installation of the hood to the base/flange. Another version of the invention comprises the oriel of the hood and the base/flange conjoined with a trim collar to form a skylight only. Used in pairs, the first skylight member is installed to the exterior of a pitched roof with the trim collar elevated within the roof structure. The second member, having a smaller diameter trim collar, is installed from the interior and mated to the first member whereas both collars telescopingly communicate to adapt to the various thicknesses of roof structures. The interior member is then rigidly fastened to the ceiling thereby self-aligning both oriels for the admittance of sunlight into a finished living space.

Combination skylight/static ventilator

A roofing and siding fastener for securing underlayments, exterior insulation sheathings, and similar membranes to a substrate. The disclosure comprises a cap portion having a rectangular body with oppositely extended legs. Said legs are bent downward and have heels situated at the ends. The cap has a nail centrally inserted through the body. The installer positions the fastener over the material to be secured and strikes the nail head, thereby driving the fastener into a substrate. As the cap portion engages the material, the heels act to deflect the flattening legs over the top surface of the material instead of allowing the legs to puncture. Each flattened leg now becomes a spring-like binder which not only provides superior holding power over the prior art, they also flex upward to dampen strong winds which can blow these underlayments off. This flexibility greatly enhances the effectiveness of underlayments in a 'dry-in' procedure. The disclosure also greatly enhances the safety of walking on pitched roof underlayments. The holding power of the disclosure reduces installation time by 50 percent.

Multipurpose roofing and siding fastener

Disclosed is a magnetic bar which is attached to the tines of leaf rakes for a purpose of retrieving nails from landscaping surrounding construction jobs. As most magnetic devices only collect nails which are loosely scattered above the soil, and that are in unobstructed areas, the disclosed invention is needed to collect those nails which are semi-embedded in the soil and that lay in bushes and in other tight places. The bar is situated along the tines of the rake and, as the rake is used to clean up a job site, the tines free any nails and draw them to the magnetic bar. By having the tines of the rake draw the nails to or near the bar, the size of the bar itself can be reduced as a large amount of magnetic pull is no longer needed. This reduction in size will result in a lower cost of the tool. The magnetic bar also strengthens the tines by becoming a cross-brace. This will translate into fewer strokes of the rake to gather debris.

A flashing system is provided for a chimney. The flashing system includes an elongated base flashing which is generally L-shaped within cross section thus having two generally planar legs which intersect each other along a mid-line of the base flashing. One leg of the base flashing is attached to the roof so that the other leg of the base flashing extends upwardly from the roof along one side of the chimney. An elongated and generally planar counter-flasher is then secured to the chimney above the top edge of the base flashing so that the counter-flashing overlaps the other leg of the base flashing. Ceiling caulk is also provided between the counter-flashing and the chimney in order to seal the counter-flashing to the chimney against the elements.

Chimney flashing system

A low voltage fuse adapter for allowing a blade-type automotive fuse to be used in a socket for glass ferrule fuse of the type widely used in automotive vehicles. One version of the fuse adapter has a supportive insulating body with at least two end faces and at least two slots between the end faces, two contact members made of electrical conductive materials formed in a preselected shape and disposed within each slot, and two caps with each cap being fixed at the end of the supporting body and each cap being in electrical contact with one contact members. A second shorter version of the fuse adapter has a similar structure, except that the insulating body is shorter, and the caps have slotted openings to permit the blades of the blade-type automotive fuse to pass through to the slotted openings to the contact members located thereunder. Both versions of the automotive blade-to-ferrule fuse adapter may be provided as part of fuse socket conversion kit. The fuse kit includes a blade-type fuse in combination with one of the aforementioned fuse adapters.
