A stage assembly for positioning a device along a first axis, the stage assembly comprising: a base; a stage that retains the device and moves above the base; a mover assembly that moves the stage along the first axis relative to the base; a first sensor system that monitors the movement of the stage along the first axis, the first sensor system generating a first signal, the first sensor system having a first sensor accuracy; a second sensor system that monitors the movement of the stage along the first axis, the second sensor system having a second sensor accuracy that is different from the first sensor accuracy of the first sensor system, the second sensor generating a second signal; and a control system that controls the mover assembly using at least one of the first sensor and the second signal.

Positioning system using surface pattern recognition and interpolation

A measuring device () for monitoring movement of a first object relative to a second object, the first object or the second object including a target surface (), comprises a first image sensor combination (), a second image sensor combination (), and a control system (A). The image sensor combinations () capture first images and second images of the target surface () over time. The first image sensor combination () includes a first image sensor (A) and a first lens assembly (B). The second image sensor combination () includes a second image sensor (A), and a second lens assembly (B) having a second optical axis (BX) that is at an angle of between thirty degrees and sixty degrees relative to normal to the target surface (). The control system (A) analyzes the first images and the second images to monitor movement of the first object relative to the second object.

Three-dimensional positioning system using surface pattern recognition and interpolation

Optical assembly containing a) at least two pairs of dichroic beamsplitting elements grouped together such that first sides of these elements are parallel and immediately adjacent to one another and to a predetermined line, and b) two optical lenses disposed such that light transmitted through the lenses towards the beamsplitting element passes through the elements without being scattered at the first sides. Optical assembly

A rotary probe head having a dual interface for probe mounting that allows two separate interfaces to be mounted on opposite sides of the 'A' or elevation axis of the rotary probe head. The two interfaces can be rotatable and interchangeable and allow for increased flexibility in handling different types of attachments including attachments having widely different mass, size, and/or interface connections. A probe can be mounted to one interface and a counterweight can be mounted to the opposite interface for improved holding torque performance by reducing the duty force and heat factor generation of the motor in the probe head.
