Patient interface

A patient interface includes a frame assembly including connectors operatively attachable to headgear, a cushion assembly provided to the frame assembly and including a seal-forming structure structured to form a seal with the patient's nose and/or mouth, and an air delivery connector provided to the frame assembly and operatively connected to an air delivery tube for supplying the air at positive pressure along an air flow path. The cushion assembly is structured to releasably connect to the frame assembly independently of the air delivery connector. The air delivery connector is structured to releasably connect to the frame assembly independently of the cushion assembly.

A mask apparatus for a respiratory treatment can permit delivery of breathable gas to a user. In one example, the mask may employ a frame and cushion to form a seal for both mouth and nose. The frame may be adapted for coupling with a respiratory treatment apparatus so as to permit communication of a pressurized gas from the respiratory treatment apparatus. The cushion, which may be foam, may have a substantially under the nose configuration or over the nose configuration. The mask may have a common plenum chamber for both nose and mouth. The cushion may further define a centrally open lip superior region. The cushion may be adapted to couple with the frame directly or to the frame in conjunction with a cushion support clip. Various features of the cushion may further promote sealing and comfort for the under the nose design.

Respiratory apparatus

A patient interface including a positioning and stabilizing structure that is configured to maintain a first seal-forming structure and a second seal-forming structure in a therapeutically effective position. The positioning and stabilizing structure comprises a frame coupled to the plenum chamber. The frame includes a central portion coupled to the plenum chamber outside of the cavity. The frame also includes a pair of arms that extend away from the central portion in a posterior direction past the second seal-forming structure. The pair of arms are more flexible than the central portion. The positioning and stabilizing structure also includes headgear straps coupled to the frame, which configured to provide a tensile force to the first seal-forming structure and to the second seal-forming structure into the patient's face via the frame.

Oro-nasal patient interface

A patient interface for treating sleep disorder breathing includes a headgear tube that provides support for the seal forming structure. The headgear tube includes a patient-contacting portion and a non-patient contacting portion that are joined along seams to form a gas passageway. The headgear tube may comprise a textile material and/or a foam material. Portions of the headgear tube may be imparted with greater rigidity than other portions.

A patient interface for treating sleep disorder breathing includes a textile tube that also provides support for the seal forming structure. The textile tube includes an inner and outer layer that are joined along seams to form an air chamber or passageway. The textile tube can be pre-shaped so that the textile tube resiliently returns to a pre-determined shape prior to the introduction of pressurized air.

A patient interface includes a frame assembly () including connectors operatively attachable to headgear, a cushion assembly () including a shell () and a seal-forming structure () structured to form a seal with the patient's nose and/or mouth, and an air delivery connector (). The cushion assembly and air delivery connector are structured to releasably connect to the frame assembly independently of each other. A static face seal and separate static diametric seal between the shell () and frame (). A dynamic face seal and separate dynamic diametric seal between the air delivery connector () and frame (). Separate claims (FIG.) to a frame assembly () with upper headgear connector arms () including at least one slot () (claim) or flexible portions (claim) to form hinges structured and arranged to conform to varying facial profiles.

A foam cushion assembly for a patient interface, the foam cushion assembly being adapted to couple with a patient interface frame, the cushion assembly comprising a substantially above the nose seal portion and a mouth seal portion, wherein the cushion assembly comprises a foam cushion arranged to form with the frame a common plenum chamber for sealing about the nose and mouth.
