The lighting device may be configured to perform black body curve fading. For example, the control circuit may be configured to control the drive circuit such that the light emitted by the lighting load is adjusted (e.g., faded) along a black body curve. The control circuit may be configured to determine whether to fade from an initial color to a destination color in a Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) chromaticity space or an XY chromaticity space. The control circuit may be configured to determine whether the initial color and/or the destination color are on the black body curve. When the initial color and the destination color are determined to be on the black body curve, the control circuit may be configured to control the drive circuit such that the light emitted by the lighting device is adjusted from the initial color to the destination color along the black body curve.

Color temperature control of a lighting device

A two-wire load control device may be configured to compute an accurate estimate of real-time power consumption by a load that is electrically connected to, and controlled by, the two-wire load control device. The load control device may be adapted to measure a voltage drop across the device during a first portion of a half-cycle of an AC waveform provided to the device. The device may be further configured to estimate a voltage drop across the load during the second portion of the half-cycle. The estimated voltage drop may be based on the measured voltage drop. The device may be further configured to measure a current supplied to the load during a second portion of the half-cycle. The device may be configured to estimate power consumed by the load based on the measured current and the estimated voltage drop.

Power measurement in a two-wire load control device

Systems and methods are disclosed for a load control system which produces a show by adjusting one or more parameter values, such as color temperature, intensity, spectrum, volume, load state, and position of a window covering, as a function of a show time equal to a current time of day. The load control system is responsive to receiving commands to adjust the show time with respect to the current time of day. The load control system is configured to respond to the received commands by initiating a temporary system override in which the one or more parameter values may rewind or forward in time according to the defined show. The temporary override may exit and the defined show may resume at the current time of day after a predetermined amount of time has passed, at a reset time, or in response to a command.

Lighting control system with light show overrides

A load control device for controlling the amount of power delivered to an electrical load may include a rectifier circuit configured to receive a phase-control voltage and produce a rectified voltage. A power converter may be configured to receive the rectified voltage at an input and generate a bus voltage. An input capacitor may be coupled across the input of the power converter. The input capacitor may be adapted to charge when the magnitude of the phase control voltage is approximately zero volts. The power converter may be configured to operate in a boost mode, such that the magnitude of the bus voltage is greater than a peak magnitude of the input voltage. The power converter may be configured to operate in a buck mode to charge the input capacitor from the bus voltage when the magnitude of the phase-control voltage is approximately zero volts.

Charging an input capacitor of a load control device

A load control system comprises a load control device and a battery-powered occupancy sensor, which transmits a first wireless signal to the load control device in response to detecting the presence of an occupant in a space. The load control system further comprises a visual indicator for providing a visual indication when the magnitude of a battery voltage of a battery of the occupancy sensor has dropped below a predetermined low-battery voltage threshold. The occupancy sensor may comprise the visual indicator, such that the visual indicator is illuminated when the occupancy detects the presence of the occupant in the space and the magnitude of the battery voltage is less than the predetermined threshold. Alternatively, the load control device may comprise the visual indicator, such that the visual indicator is illuminated in response to receiving a second wireless signal, which is transmitting by the occupancy sensor when the magnitude of the battery voltage is less than the predetermined threshold.

Battery-powered occupancy sensor

A load control device for controlling the power delivered from a power source to an electrical load includes an antenna and a communication circuit to receive and transmit messages via radio frequency (RF) signals. The communication circuit is coupled to the power source but is capacitively coupled to the antenna. The capacitive coupling is formed through multiple layers of a printed circuit board (PCB) in which each layer includes a conductive trace that neighbors another conductive trace on an adjacent layer. The capacitive coupling provides that the antenna is electrically isolated from the communication circuit which accordingly, provides that the antenna is electrically isolated from the power source.
