A test article containing test objects for assessing and evaluating an image producing x-ray computed tomography system, includes: an exterior shell assembly surrounding an inner volume; a base assembly comprising a flat base portion; a support structure comprising one or more partitions configured to support the test objects, a pair of component supports configured to support an angled bar test object, and one or more brackets configured to attach to at least one of: a partition and the flat base portion; an object length test object connected to the one or more partitions; an angled bar test object connected to the pair of component supports; an NEQ test object comprising a support extension with a threaded attachment configured to connect to a threaded attachment on another test object; and an acetal cylinder test object comprising two threaded mounting extensions and configured to support at least one metal annular device.

Image quality test article

Various tray inserts, methods and algorithm for certifying candidate trays for use in an X-ray scanner system are discussed. The tray insert includes at least a body having multiple parts positioned for generation of image quality metrics for tray impact evaluation in; a first cover and a second cover disposed at opposite ends to fix and secure the body. The method including running an algorithm to control an X-ray system to collect baseline image data from certified trays, collecting candidate tray image data, extracting image quality metrics for both the baseline image data and the candidate tray image data, and performing statistical analysis using and comparing image quality metrics from the baseline image data and the candidate tray image data to certify the candidate tray based on the statistical and comparison results.

Tray inserts and image quality, systems, methods and algorithms for quantifying tray's impact using the same

A dosimeter assembly being placed within an inner volume of a test article for evaluating an image produced by an x-ray computed tomography (CT) system. The dosimeter assembly includes: a dosimeter having a display, a dosimeter shelf that supports the dosimeter; and an alignment bracket that positions the dosimeter on the dosimeter shelf. The dosimeter shelf is operable to be mounted within the x-ray computed tomography system test article, and the display of the dosimeter is viewable through a dosimeter window which is disposed at a front end of the x-ray computed tomography system test article, wherein the dosimeter assembly is accessible through an access panel directly beneath the dosimeter assembly, the access panel being an opening which is disposed on a base of the x-ray computer tomography system test article. The dosimeter is operably connected to a connection interface which is configured to exchange communication with an external device.
