A mobile dialysis therapy cart includes a top shelf; a cycler compartment positioned below the top shelf, the cycler compartment sized and shaped to house an APD cycler; a fluid bag management compartment sized and shaped to house at least two fluid bags; a drain compartment positioned below the fluid bag management compartment; and a plurality of wheels. The cart may include a heating device associated with the fluid bag management compartment and/or a sanitizing light source for sanitizing a location of a disposable set associated with the fluid bags.

The second light is emitted out of phase with the first light, and the first Tritan confusion line, the Tritan copunctual point, and the second Tritan confusion line form an angle that is less than 10 degrees.

An airtrap for a medical or physiological fluid in one embodiment includes a conical housing having a radius that increases from its top to its bottom when the housing is positioned for operation; a medical or physiological fluid inlet located at an upper portion of the conical housing; a medical or physiological fluid outlet located at a lower portion of the conical housing, the inlet and the outlet positioned and arranged so that medical or physiological fluid spirals in an increasing arc around an inside of the conical housing downwardly from the inlet to the outlet; and a gas collection area located at an upper portion of the conical housing. In another embodiment, the airtrap is shaped like a seahorse having a head section and a tail section. Any of the airtraps herein may be used for example in blood sets, peritoneal dialysis cassette tubing, and drug delivery sets.

A renal therapy system is disclosed. In an example, the renal therapy system includes a home renal therapy machine that stores, to a log file, dates of when renal therapies were performed and a type of each renal therapy that was performed. The system also includes a server that receives the log file from the home renal therapy machine. The server compares the dates and types of performed renal therapies stored in the log file to a device program that specifies dates for performing renal therapies and the types of renal therapies to be performed. The server displays a flag in a user interface of a clinician computer when there is a deviation from the comparison.

A blood treatment air purging system and method includes a level detector positioned and arranged to detect a low fluid level in a blood circuit indicating a high amount of air in the blood circuit; a blood pump operable with the blood circuit; a venous patient line of the blood circuit; and at least one blood circuit air vent valve, wherein the system and method are configured or programmed to (i) stop the blood pump, (ii) close the venous patient line, and (iii) open the at least one blood circuit air vent valve to atmosphere or a container when the low fluid level is detected, and (iv) run the blood pump to meter air through the at least one blood circuit air vent valve to atmosphere or the container.

A renal therapy system is disclosed. In an example, the renal therapy system includes a user interface device, such as a tablet computer. The renal therapy system also includes a renal therapy machine configured to perform a renal therapy. The renal therapy machine includes a data transfer interface configured to communicatively couple to the user interface device, a dialysis fluid pump, and a processor that operates a connectivity agent having an activated mode and a deactivated mode. When in the activated mode, the connectivity agent enables the processor to send data related to a performance of the renal therapy to a system hub. In the deactivated mode, the processor is prevented from sending the data to or receiving any data from the system hub. The user interface device is configured to receive data from and send data to the processor regardless of a status of the connectivity agent.

A renal therapy system is disclosed. In an example, a renal therapy system includes a dialysis fluid pump, a control processor for controlling a treatment performed by the dialysis fluid pump, and a user interface device in operable communication with the control processor.

Home renal therapy machine

An example device is configured to emit a first light having a first luminous flux and a peak intensity at a first wavelength that is greater than or equal to 400 nanometers (nm) and less than or equal to 480 nm. The first luminous flux is variable and/or the emission of the first light is interrupted one or more times. The device is also configured to emit a second light having a second luminous flux and a peak intensity at a second wavelength that is greater than or equal to 500 nm and less than or equal to 630 nm. The second luminous flux is variable and/or the emission of the second light is interrupted one or more times. The first luminous flux is at a maximum at least during a time at which the second luminous flux is not at a maximum.

Lighting devices and methods for use

Dialysis systems that remove air from a blood circuit are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a dialysis system includes a dialysis fluid circuit, a blood circuit including an arterial line, a venous line, and an enclosure in fluid communication with the venous line, the enclosure configured to release air through a hydrophobic vent for priming the blood circuit, a blood pump configured to pump fluid through at least the arterial line, a first valve operable with the arterial line and a second valve operable with the venous line, and a pumping and valving algorithm operated after priming to remove air from the blood circuit to control the first and second valves and the blood pump to replace priming fluid with blood from a patient.

A hemodialysis system configured to purge air from a blood circuit comprises a dialyzer; a dialysis fluid circuit operable with the dialyzer via dialysis fluid inlet and outlet lines, the dialysis fluid circuit including a fresh dialysis fluid pump, and a used dialysis fluid pump; the blood circuit operable with the dialyzer and including an arterial line, a venous line, a blood pump operable with the arterial line upstream of the dialyzer, a physiologically acceptable fluid source in fluid communication with the arterial line upstream of the blood pump, a drip chamber located along the venous line, and a container for accepting air purged from the blood circuit; and an air purging scheme wherein, with the dialysis fluid inlet and outlet lines connected to the dialyzer, the blood pump pumps a fluid through the dialyzer and into the drip chamber, forcing air from the drip chamber into the container.

A renal therapy machine with a blood pressure monitor is disclosed. In an example, a renal therapy machine includes a dialysis fluid pump a control processor for controlling a treatment performed by the dialysis fluid pump, and a user interface in operable communication with the control processor. The renal therapy machine also includes a blood pressure monitor in operable communication with the control processor. The blood pressure monitor includes a blood pressure cuff positioned and arranged to receive air pressurized from within the renal therapy machine for the purpose of taking a patient's blood pressure.
