A bed () includes a base () and a frame assembly (). A head end support assembly () and a foot end support assembly () are coupled between the base () and the frame assembly (). The bed () also includes a plurality of latch mechanisms () coupled to the first and second side frame members (), and a patient support surface () configured to be coupled to the first and second side frame members () by the plurality of latch mechanisms (). A rotational drive mechanism () is coupled to the foot end support assembly () to rotate the frame assembly () about its longitudinal axis to a prone position.
