A window securing device ( ) for use in a double-hung sash window assembly having upper and lower sash window frames ( ) installed for relative overlapping vertical sliding movement, said upper sash frame ( ) having a recess into the interior of a vertical facial member of the window. The device ( ) includes a housing ( ) having a front faceplate opening ( ) into a cavity ( ) therein and a means for retaining the housing ( ) in the recess with the faceplate ( ) covering the edges of the recess. A pawl ( ) mounted in the cavity ( ) of the housing ( ) is spring biased into an extended position where the lowermost arresting edge protrudes through the opening ( ). In effect, the extended pawl ( ) blocks the pathway of a top portion of the lower sash ( ) for preventing further upward movement thereof. With the pawl ( ) in the extended position, the uppermost contact edge ( ) of said pawl ( ) is configured for abutting against an inside edge ( ) of the top of the opening ( ) in said faceplate ( ). A substantial portion of the upward force associated with the lifting of the lower sash ( ) against the arresting edge is transferred into the upper sash frame for enhanced resistance.

Apparatus for securing sash window

A wafer transfer arm made from a machineable material for picking up and delivering a semiconductor wafer from one location to another, includes a blade body with a longitudinal channel extending along one surface, and a coverplate adapted to matingly fit into the channel for defining a vacuum conduit therein. The vacuum conduit provides fluid communication between an inlet at one end of the blade body and an outlet at the other end, for suctionally retaining the semiconductor wafer by vacuum pressure or suction.

A plasma reactor showerhead electrode assembly for processing semiconductor wafers comprised of a typically silicon disk shaped gas plate having a plurality of gas passage holes formed therethrough by a ultrahigh velocity water jet boring apparatus, and a graphite circular split collar assembly including first and second semicircular sections forming a circumferential inner slot when opposing ends of said sections are secured together, the slot mating in a dovetail connection with an outer circumferential groove of said gas plate for retaining the latter between said sections. A conductive gasket may be interposed between the gas plate groove and the mating collar assembly to provide an electrically and thermally conductive seal. The first and second semicircular sections have opposing ends screwed or pinned together for providing easy disassembly thereof for replacement of the gas plate.

Showerhead electrode assembly for plasma processing

A showerhead electrode assembly for a plasma reactor for processing semiconductor wafers includes a gas plate having a plurality of through holes for passage of gas. The top face or side of the gas plate is of smaller diameter than the bottom side or face of the gas plate. An acutely angled peripheral groove is formed between the top face of the gas plate, and the lower portion thereof, with the groove terminating at a band-like ledge with the top face and lower portion. A locking ring is provided by two identical semicircular sections, each of which include in a lower portion of an inside sidewall, respectively, an acutely angled peripheral groove for mating with the groove of the gas plate. A unitary circular support collar is formed with a circular channel in a bottom portion thereof. These components are joined together by applying an adhesive in the channel of the support collar, mounting the locking ring sections onto the gas plate with the grooves therebetween interlocking, and thereafter forcing the channel of the support collar onto the locking ring sections until the bottom surfaces of the support collar abut against the ledge, and top face or side portion of the gas plate, respectively.

A Veress needle instrument consists of a housing serving as a handle, a hollow needle having one end mounted in the housing and a pointed other end, a tube slidably mounted within the needle, the tube having one end sealed off and a side wall hole proximate the sealed end, the other end of the tube passing through the hollow needle and into the length of a passageway of a spring biased bobbin mounted in the housing, with the other end being secured in the passageway. The passageway of the bobbin opens into a porthole thereof for receiving a fluid coupling through a hole in the top end of the housing, thereby permitting fluid to be passed directly between the tube and the fluid coupling. The bobbin is normally biased toward the bottom end of the housing, for causing the one end of the tube to extend away from a pointed end of the needle with the side hole of the tube unobstructed. When a force directed against the end of the tube causes it to retract into the needle, the bobbin moves toward the top end of the housing, causing a colored portion of the bobbin to protrude out of the hole in the top end of the housing, for providing a visual indication that the one end of the tube has retracted into the needle.
