This disclosure relates to a spray cleaner head for a cleaning system. In one aspect of this disclosure, the spray cleaner head includes a gear system configured to regulate rotation of a nozzle, and the gear system includes a central bore receiving an inlet shaft. In another aspect of this disclosure, spray cleaner head includes an adjustable brake assembly configured to selectively regulate rotation of the nozzle. In yet another aspect of this disclosure, the spray cleaner head includes first and second seals provided axially between the first and second bearings.

A hose shroud comprises a tube formed from an aramid fabric rolled into a plurality of tubular layers. The hose shroud has a first end fitting at a first end of the tube, and a second end fitting at a second end of the tube.

A nozzle for use in a high pressure water jetting system is provided including a stationary housing, a rotating shaft, and a central passage within the shaft for communicating high pressure fluid to the nozzle. The shaft may include communication passages to provide fluid from the central passage to a forward fluid pressure chamber defined between an outer peripheral surface of the shaft and the housing. A rear fluid pressure chamber may be defined between the shaft and the housing and a restriction may be defined between the housing and the inlet end of the shaft, the restriction configured to receive fluid from the rear fluid pressure chamber and transport it to a chamber communicating with the atmosphere. The restriction may be formed as an annular gap between the housing and the inlet end of the shaft and configured to decrease in volume when the shaft moves axially forward.

Rotating fluid nozzle for tube cleaning system

A fluid nozzle for use in a high pressure water jetting system includes a housing to be fixed to a source of high pressure water. The housing receives a rotating member and an inner peripheral bore. The rotating member includes a shaft received within the housing, and a nozzle extending outwardly of the housing, the nozzle having openings extending along a direction having a component both forwardly along an axis of rotation of the shaft and the nozzle, and radially outwardly relative to the central axis. A central passage within the shaft communicates high pressure fluid to the nozzle. The shaft includes leakage paths to provide leakage fluid from the central passage to an interface between an outer peripheral wall of the shaft and an inner peripheral wall of the bore in the housing. The leakage paths communicate fluid to a forward fluid pressure chamber, and to a rearward fluid pressure chamber. A pressure loss to the rearward fluid pressure chamber is greater than a pressure drop at the forward pressure chamber.

An improved seal for use in fluid systems such as a water jet system includes an outer seal point that is very close to an inner seal point. By spacing these two seal points very close together, the force on the seal is greatly reduced compared to the prior art. In the disclosed embodiment, the outer seal point is on an angled forward face of the seal that abuts a back-up ring angled face. The inner seal point is between the seal and an internal shaft which rotates relative to a housing.

Rotating fluid jet with improved rotary seal

A valve seat for use in a high pressure pump comprises an inner portion force fit within an outer portion. The outer portion has a fluid plenum at an outer peripheral surface. Fluid passages extend radially inwardly to communicate with a valve recess in the inner portion. A seal housing for a high pressure pump comprises an outer portion and an inner portion. The inner portion is force fit within the outer portion. The inner portion has an inner bore having a first location to receive seal packings, and a second location to receive valve spring structure. The inner portion has a curved surface that bottoms out against a curved surface within the outer portion.

High pressure water pump valve and seal structure

A unique shroud assembly covers the outlet nozzle of a high pressure hand held discharge device. The shroud assembly has a stationary tubular sleeve spaced generally circumferentially about the outlet nozzle and a pivotable tubular end cuff that is spaced from and encircles the outlet end of the stationary tubular sleeve. The pivotable tubular end cuff is capable of pivoting along the longitudinal axis of the outlet nozzle of the spray device. This enables the operator to hold the outlet nozzle at a plurality of angles with respect to the surface being treated while maintaining the necessary flush contact of the outlet opening of the discharge device with the treated surface. Additionally, the stationary tubular sleeve is provided with a laterally positioned outlet for attachment to a vacuum source to suction expelled fluid carrying loosened debris from the treated surface. The pivotable tubular end cuff may have ball bearings provided on an end surface that is in sliding contact with the treated surface in order to reduce surface friction.

Shroud assembly for high pressure fluid cleaning lance

A two-handle cleaning lance includes a pair of switches which must be held closed by an operator to allow high pressure water to be directed to a discharge nozzle. A dump valve is selectively actuated to dump the high pressure water to a dump nozzle at which it will enter the environment at a much reduced pressure. The dump valve is operated by a control which monitors that the two switches are both held closed. If either switch is released, then the dump valve is moved to a dump position. The present invention ensures that an operator does not disable one of the two switches such as by taping it closed. The dump valve will not move back to its actuated position until both switches have been released and have moved to an open position.

Two trigger safety circuit for water cleaning lance

A valve assembly for use with a high pressure fluid gun includes a valve seat connected to a valve sleeve by a spring. The valve seat and the valve sleeve are crimped around opposing ends of the spring. A valve pin is secured to the valve sleeve, the spring allowing for the movement of the valve pin when a trigger mechanism is actuated. When installed, the valve pin is received and guided by a bore in the body of the fluid gun. When the valve pin is actuated by a trigger mechanism, a seat end of the valve pin sealingly engages an angled seat of the valve seat to direct the flow of fluid through a high pressure outlet.

Removable valve assembly

An improved method for cleaning vertical walls includes providing a vacuum source to adhere the system to the vertical wall. The vacuum source removes fluid and removed material from the wall, and also adheres the system to the wall. A rotating fluid jet is positioned radially inwardly of the vacuum source and impinges high pressurized fluid off of the surface to be cleaned to remove material. In a preferred embodiment, a central portion is provided that mounts both the fluid source and the vacuum source. A base portion mounts motors for driving the system along the wall. The base portion rotates relative to the central portion such that the central portion does not move as the base portion turns on the wall to drive the system along the wall. In a further feature, an additional air flow system is provided to provide supplemental air flow to assist the vacuum when moving the fluid and removed material. In addition, a second embodiment of a seal for contacting the surface to be cleaned includes a plurality of brush bristles. The brush bristles ensure good contact with the wall, and ensure that the vacuum will not be broken and that the device will adhere to the wall.

A pressurized fluid discharge gun is used to spray high pressure fluid against various types of surfaces for cleaning purposes. To operate the gun two handles, each with a separate trigger, must be firmly held by the operator. When both triggers are compressed firmly towards the handle, highly pressurized fluid exits the gun. If either one of the triggers is released then the fluid is dumped to a low pressure discharge, i.e. high pressure fluid is not permitted to exit the gun. The gun has a high pressure pipe and a low pressure pipe connected to a main body. A valve assembly, located in the main body, controls whether the fluid from the inlet goes to the high pressure pipe or the low pressure pipe. The valve assembly has a high pressure path and a low pressure path interconnected by two passages. Two pin valves, each controlled by one of the triggers, block the two passages when the triggers are compressed resulting in high pressure fluid flow. When either trigger is released, the pin valve moves causing its respective passage to open resulting in low pressure fluid flow.
