The disclosure relates to an injection device for expelling of a number of preset or user-selectable doses of a medicament. The injection device includes an elongated housing extending along an axial direction and configured to accommodate a cartridge containing the medicament and having a bung sealing a proximal end of the cartridge, a windup expelling mechanism, and a dose setting mechanism. The dose setting mechanism includes a handle, a dose tracking member, and a limiter. The dose tracking member is rotatable relative to the housing within a range of positional states and operatively connectable to the handle for tracking a rotation thereof. The limiter is operationally engageable with the dose tracking member and a trigger of the windup expelling mechanism for blocking actuation of the trigger when the dose tracking member is in one of a number of predetermined sections of the range of positional states.

Drive mechanism for an injection device

A set including a pump dispenser for discharging pharmaceutical or cosmetic liquids and an external evaluation unit, which is designed to be exchangeable so that, after the pump dispenser has been emptied, the evaluation unit can be attached to a new pump dispenser. The evaluation unit can be attached to the discharging head of the pump dispenser such that the evaluation unit detects an actuation button and can be partially displaced with same. The evaluation unit can alternatively have a receiving container which is open on at least one side and into which the pump dispenser can be inserted and the force application of which is detected on actuation.

An autoinjector includes a housing and a drive chassis arranged linearly moveable within the housing. The drive chassis includes a dispensing limb and a trigger limb. A sensor device removably attachable to a drug delivery device includes a sensing arrangement arranged within the sensor device and circuitry configured to process signals provided by the sensing arrangement. The sensing arrangement is configured such that, when the sensor device is attached to the drug delivery device, the sensing arrangement is operable to read encoded information present on a rotatable component internal to the drug delivery device and that is able to be sensed through a window or aperture of the drug delivery device, and is operable to sense through the window or aperture at least a part of a drive mechanism of the drug delivery device. The circuitry is configured to determine information relating to a set dose, and to determine information relating to whether the drug delivery device is in a dose setting mode or whether the device is in a dose delivery mode.

An autoinjector basically includes a housing, a pre-filled syringe, a drive chassis, and a needle guard. The pre-filled syringe is mounted in the housing. The drive chassis is configured to move a plunger in the pre-filled syringe to dispense medicament via an urging force from a drive spring. The needle guard is moveable in the housing between a storage state, a dispensing state, and a lock-out state. The needle guard is biased towards an extended position by a lock-out spring. The needle guard selectively engages the housing to establish a frontmost position of the needle guard in the storage state, and an offset position of the needle guard in the lock-out state. The offset position is axially offset from the frontmost position in the distal direction.

A drive train for a wind-up injection device is described. The drive train includes a torsional energy storage adapted to be loaded or unloaded by a rotatable element, a rotatable user handle, a rotationally driveable expelling mechanism adapted to expel the liquid drug, and a clutch element coupled with the torsional energy storage via the rotatable element and including a ratchet for maintaining the rotatable element at one of a number of discrete angular positions against the torque of the torsional energy storage. The present disclosure relates to a ratchet mechanism and to an injection device for expelling of a number of preset or user-selectable doses of a medicament. The ratchet mechanism comprises a housing and a ratchet member that is circularly shaped and rotationally supported relative to the housing. The ratchet member comprises a ratchet surface, a plurality of ratchet features on the ratchet surface, and one or more intermediate ratchet sections on the ratchet surface extending between the plurality of ratchet features. The ratchet mechanism further comprises a counter ratchet member that is circularly shaped, coaxially arranged relative to the ratchet member, rotatable relative to the ratchet member at least along a first sense of rotation, and rotationally supported relative to the housing. The sensor device comprises an array of optical sensors arranged within the sensor device such that, when the sensor device is attached to the drug delivery device, which has a first movable element configured to move along a path parallel to the longitudinal axis of the drug delivery device, each optical sensor is operable to detect light received at different locations along the path and to output a signal indicative of an amount of detected light.
