A child containment system has a child containment structure with a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom. A bassinet has an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the infant support surface. The bassinet can be mounted to the child containment structure with the infant support surface elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure. An infant support unit can have a frame, a bed supported by the frame, and legs that extend from one end infant support unit to the distal second end. The infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which the infant support unit at least partially positioned within the child containment structure with the bed overlying the bassinet's infant support surface, and with a portion of the legs contacting the bassinet's infant support surface.

Child containment system with multiple infant support modes

A child containment system has a child containment structure with a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom. A bassinet has an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the infant support surface. The bassinet can be mounted to the child containment structure with the infant support surface elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure. An infant support unit can have a frame, a bed supported by the frame, and legs that extend from one end of the infant support unit to the distal second end. A child containment device has a playard and a bassinet accessory supported on the playard. A mattress is positioned within the bassinet accessory. The device can have a mattress support structure attached to the bassinet accessory or the mattress and can have a bassinet support structure attached to the bassinet accessory. The mattress support structure can keep the mattress flat and level and be irremovably attached to the mattress or bassinet accessory. The bassinet support structure can be irremovably attached to the bassinet accessory or can be configured to orient the mattress to contact a playard floor panel or be oriented 30&#xb0; or more from a level orientation if improperly installed.

Mattress and bassinet support structures for a child containment device

The infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which the infant support unit is mounted to the child containment structure with the bed overlying the bassinet's infant support surface, with the connector structure of the infant support unit coupled to a corresponding portion of the perimeter wall of the child containment structure, and with a portion of the leg contacting the bassinet's infant support surface.

Playard

A baby crib includes a frame structure, a support base located at a bottom of the frame, the support base including at least one opening, and a cushion pad disposed on the support base, the cushion pad including at least one strap disposed at a position corresponding to the opening. The strap has a first end secured with the cushion pad, and a second end that is formed as a free end adapted to pass through the opening and detachably fasten with the frame structure via a fastener. As the cushion pad is securely held with the support base of the baby crib, injuries caused by accidental lift of the cushion pad can be prevented.

A child containment system includes a child containment structure that has a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom; a bassinet that has an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the support surface, the bassinet mounted to the child containment structure with the bottom panel elevated above the support surface; and an infant support unit that has a frame, a bed supported by the frame, and a connector structure positioned adjacent each opposed end of the infant support unit. In a first operational mode the infant support unit is removably mounted to the child containment structure with the bed overlying the support surface with each connector structure coupled to a corresponding portion of the perimeter wall. The frame is configured to support the bed above a rest surface in a second operational mode in which the infant support unit is detached from the child containment structure.

A mattress pad assembly for use with a child containment area is disclosed. The mattress pad assembly includes a mattress pad having a plurality of panels each of which is coupled to at least one other panel along a flexible seam, wherein the mattress pad is reconfigurable between a non-planar configuration and a planar configuration defined by the cooperation of the plurality of panels to form a flexible top surface and a substantially rigid bottom surface. The mattress pad assembly further includes a support assembly coupled to the bottom surface of the mattress pad when the mattress pad is in the planar configuration, the support assembly having one or more support connectors coupled to at least two of the plurality of panels, and a brace configured to removably cooperate with the one or more support connectors, wherein the brace is configured to engage each of the plurality of panels to prevent bending along the flexible seam.

Mattress structures for child containment and sleeping devices

A juvenile product includes a frame with a rail, the rail including first and second rail sections, a latch assembly coupling the first and second rail sections and configured to reside in a latched state for an in-use orientation of the rail, and an elastic bias element coupled to the first rail section or the second rail section and configured to be under tension in or near the in-use orientation such that the elastic bias element drives the rail away from the in-use orientation when the rail is near the in-use orientation with the latch assembly not in the latched state.

A child containment system includes a child containment structure defining an interior space to be occupied by an infant and including an infant support surface within the interior space, and an infant support unit configured for use in a first operational mode in which the infant support unit is coupled to the child containment structure and disposed within the interior space above the infant support surface. The infant support unit and the child containment structure include respective connectors to secure the infant support unit in the first operational mode. The infant support unit includes a frame configured for use of the infant support unit in a second operational mode in which the infant support unit is independent of the child containment structure.
