An electrical connector includes an electrical terminal, a terminal module in which the electrical terminal is disposed, a connector housing having a primary locking mechanism configured to secure the terminal module within the connector housing, a secondary locking mechanism also configured to secure the terminal module within the connector housing, and a retainer attached to the connector housing and configured to maintain compressive contact between the secondary locking mechanism and the terminal module. The secondary locking mechanism further includes a wire seal assembly that has a rigid tube, a compliant tubular inner seal axially disposed within the rigid tube, and a compliant tubular outer seal axially surrounding the rigid tube.

An electrical connector assembly includes a first connector body, a male terminal stabilizer disposed within the first connector body that is movable from a pre-staged position to a full staged position, a second connector body, means for retaining the male terminal stabilizer in the pre-staged position until the second connector body is inserted within the first connector body, means for releasing the male terminal stabilizer from the pre-stage position and allow the second connector body to push the male terminal stabilizer to the full staged position, means for returning the male terminal stabilizer from the full staged position to the pre-staged when the second connector body is withdrawn from the first connector body, and means for retaining the male terminal stabilizer in the first connector body as the second connector body is withdrawn from the first connector body.

An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical terminal having a connection portion and an attachment portion angled relative to the connection portion. The assembly also includes a cylindrical inner housing sleeve formed of a polymeric material in which the connection portion of the electrical terminal is disposed and an outer connector housing formed of a polymeric material having a smooth bore configured to receive the inner housing sleeve containing the electrical terminal. The bore and inner housing sleeve are sized such that the inner housing sleeve is in an interference fit condition when received within the bore. The electrical connector assembly is assembled by a process having the steps of inserting the inner housing sleeve within the bore of the outer connector housing and affixing the inner housing sleeve to the outer connector housing by welding the inner housing sleeve to the outer connector housing.

Electrical connector assembly and method for manufacturing same

A connector assembly includes a connector body defining a plurality of cavities, extending longitudinally through the connector body. The cavities are configured to receive inner terminal housings configured to hold electrical terminals attached to electrical cables disposed within the cavities. The connector assembly further includes a retaining device slidably attached to the connector body and moveable from a pre-staged position to a staged position. The retaining device allows the inner terminal housings to be inserted or removed from the cavities when in the pre-staged position and inhibits the inner terminal housings from being inserted or removed from the cavities when in the staged position.

Opposed sides of the housing each define a pair of parallel locking ribs forming a locking slot therebetween. A connector assembly includes a housing. The housing defines a cavity configured to receive a coaxial electrical terminal. The housing has a first end an a second end opposite the first end. The housing also has a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The first side and second side have opposed locking ribs. The coaxial electrical terminal has a wire end and a terminal end oriented orthogonal to the wire end. When the housing engages a corresponding mounting bracket, locking arms extending from the corresponding mounting bracket impart a retention force on the opposed locking ribs and inhibit a rotation of the housing about a mating axis of the coaxial electrical terminal.

An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical terminal having an attachment end and a connection end, a first terminal housing having a first cavity in which the attachment end is disposed. The first cavity defining a terminal extension opening through which the connection end extends. The assembly also includes a second terminal housing having a second cavity in which the connection end is disposed. The second cavity defining a terminal reception opening through which the connection end is received. The first terminal housing defines a first attachment surface surrounding the terminal extension opening and the second terminal housing defines a second attachment surface surrounding the terminal reception opening. The first attachment surface is sealed to the second attachment surface. The first attachment surface forms a first angle relative to the longitudinal axis and the second attachment surface forms a second angle relative to the lateral axis.

A coaxial connector assembly is described herein. The coaxial connector assembly includes an inner contact that is configured to terminate a center conductor of a coaxial cable, an insulative inner sleeve holding the inner contact, a tubular outer contact surrounding the inner sleeve and the inner contact, said outer contact configured to terminate a shield braid of the coaxial cable and an insulative cylindrical outer sleeve defining a central cavity extending longitudinally therethrough in which said outer contact is disposed. The cavity has an opening configured to receive a corresponding coaxial connector. A lip on a forward end of the outer sleeve extends into the opening such that a forward edge of the outer contact is not exposed within the opening. The coaxial connector assembly may be configured to meet the FAKRA connector standards.

A connector assembly including a first connector having a primary locking lever pivotably mounted to the first connector. The primary locking lever defines a pair of beams extending to a primary latch. The primary latch defines a ridge along a rearward edge providing a secondary striker. The second connector includes a primary striker that with the primary latch locks the first and second connectors together. The assembly further includes a CPA device slideably mounted to the first connector and a CPA lever defining a secondary latch. The secondary latch engages the lateral ridge to inhibit movement of the CPA device from an initial position to a final position until after the first and second connectors are fully mated. The secondary latch of the CPA device engages the secondary striker when the CPA device is moved to the final position, thereby preventing disengagement of the primary latch from the primary striker.
