A first acquirers receives, via a payment network configured to facilitate transactions between multiple issuers and multiple acquirers, an authorization response flagged with a flag. The flag indicates that clearing of a first transaction, associated with the authorization response, is to be suspended. The first transaction initially has an uncertain amount, and is associated with a first payment account, of a first user, associated with a first issuer. Subsequent determination of a final certain amount for the first transaction is awaited. Upon determination of the final certain amount, the first one of the acquirers proceeds with clearing the first transaction, based on the final certain amount. The steps are repeated for at least a second acquirer and at least a second transaction. The second transaction is associated with a second payment account, of a second user, associated with a second one of the issuers. The steps are carried out by an operator of the payment network, and the flag is understandable to the first and second issuers and the first and second acquirers.

Method and apparatus for processing uncertain transaction amounts in a payment system

Systems and methods are provided for transferring value from a voucher to a payment account associated with a consumer. One exemplary method includes receiving, at a computing device, a load request to transfer value from a voucher to a payment account associated with a consumer. The load request includes a selection, at the computing device, of a provider associated with the voucher, from multiple different available voucher providers. A transaction request is then communicated, by the computing device, to transfer the value from the voucher to the payment account. The transaction request includes an identification number for the voucher and an account number for the payment account. When a transfer authorization is received at the computing device in response to the transaction request, a confirmation is generated, by the computing device, indicating that the value from the voucher has been transferred to the payment account.

Systems and methods for transferring value to payment accounts

A method includes the steps of facilitating obtaining indicia identifying individual items to be purchased at a point of interaction, in conjunction with an inbound authorization request; facilitating translation of the indicia into a form understandable by a third party transaction approver, to obtain translated indicia; and facilitating transfer of the translated indicia to the third patty transaction approver for item-by-item validation on the individual items. The transfer of the translated indicia is in conjunction with an outbound authorization request. A system implementing the method can make use of an inventive transfer engine.
