A device for mixing and dispensing a flowable material or mixture of materials, the device comprising a cup having a bottom with a protrusion having an opening; a plunger having a dispensing port and air vent holes; a plug; a nozzle; and, a lid. The plug can be associated with and plug the cup protrusion opening when the cup is being filled or mixed, or the plug can be associated with the plunger port to seal off the air vent holes when material is dispensed from the device. Also disclosed is a method of mixing and dispensing a flowable material.

Devices, systems, and methods are provided for mixing by asymmetric rotation using a servo motor to drive the symmetric rotation. The system may include a robotic arm and robotic controller.

A rotation mixer including a housing, a drive unit coupled to the housing, a carriage mounted on the drive unit for rotation relative to the housing, and a basket mounted for rotation relative to the carriage. The basket receives material to be mixed. The carriage includes an arm and a drive line coupled to the arm. The arm is mounted on the drive unit for rotation about a first axis relative to the housing, and the drive line converts rotation of the arm into rotation of the basket about a second axis relative to the arm during use of the rotation mixer. The drive line illustratively includes a belt and plurality of pulleys upon which the belt travels in a continuous loop, the belt engaging with a gear on the basket to cause rotation of the basket.

A calibration system for sensors is provided. The calibration system includes an array of blackbody elements. Each blackbody element includes a high emissivity surface. The high emissivity surface can be formed using carbon nanotubes. In addition, each blackbody element includes a heating element and a temperature sensor. The heating element is operated to bring the blackbody element to a set point temperature, as determined by the temperature sensor. As an example, the calibration system can be used in connection with sensors sensitive to infrared wavelengths that is carried by a satellite or other platform.

Improvements in a one-way valve cap to allow a homeowner to install the cap without requiring tools. This allows a homeowner to simply remove the existing cap and install the new cap to prevent removal from an unauthorized person. The one-way locking mechanism includes a ramp that prevents a person from unscrewing to cap without a tool. The opening allows a person to insert the tool through the outer housing and into the inner housing to unscrew the inner housing from the valve. A hex key or a custom key design can be used for removing the cap. A seal is inserted in the inner housing and seals the inner housing with the valve. The elastomeric seal prevents intrusion of contamination inside of the valve and also provides an additional seal to the valve to reduce a potential leak of gas from the line.

Systems and methods for providing a hybrid integrated nanostructure and nanotube substrate system are disclosed. The system includes a substrate having a plurality of nanostructures formed thereon. Interconnected to the substrate, directly or through nanostructures, are nanotubes. The nanostructures can extend for a greater distance from the surface of the substrate than the nanotubes, providing a robust structure. In addition, the structure can be highly emissive and absorptive hybrid surface.
