A fragmentable package for use in an explosive armament, is disclosed having individual fragments formed by additively depositing layers, of at least one of selected metal type and a composite that includes a selected metal type, to create interconnected individual fragments to form a plurality of voids around an individual outer surface of the individual fragments defining a separation of fragments when detonated, the individual fragments providing structural stiffness and strength. A method is also disclosed.

Lightweight monolithic warhead and a method of manufacture

A security wrapper for an electronic assembly and methods for forming such a wrapper are provided. A first wrap layer and/or a second wrap layer may be made from a curable adhesive material. A flexible layer is interposed between the first and second wrap layers, which in combination constitute a pre-formed wrapper in an uncured condition. The pre-formed wrapper may be mounted onto an electronic assembly including circuit components having respective three-dimensional profiles which can vary over a surface of the electronic assembly. The pre-formed wrapper may be subjected to a curing process so that in a cured condition conformable adherence is provided with respect to the circuit components. This arrangement provides a thermal coupling effective to dissipate heat produced by such circuit components and further results in a low-profile for the assembly of the wrapper and electronic assembly.

Security wrapper for an electronic assembly and methods for forming such a wrapper

Radiation detection is disclosed. A radiation detection package includes a radio-photoluminescent glass (RPLG), an EMR source and a photodetector. The EMR source includes an input lead, and is configured to emit first energy in a predetermined band of EMR in a downstream direction toward the RPLG in response to receipt of an input signal on the input lead of the EMR source. The photodetector has an output lead, and is configured to detect second energy that is emitted by the RPLG in an emission band of EMR in response to the receipt of the first energy in the predetermined band of EMR, and generate a first output signal on the output lead indicative of an amount of the second energy.

Radiation detection package

Mechanisms for verification of an item. A controller reads out signals from an antenna array comprising a plurality of individual antenna elements that is configured to overlay an item that generates radio frequency (RF) emissions. The signals quantify the RF emissions received by antenna elements from the item. The controller generates an ad hoc RF emission signature based on the signals. A predetermined RF emission signature associated with the item is accessed. The ad hoc RF emission signature and the predetermined RF emission signature are compared to determine a verification status, and the controller performs a verification action based on the verification status.

Conformal electromagnetic (EM) detector

Systems and methods for securing devices and encoding information in hardware and hardware arrangements are provided. Variations include switched networks included in conformal coatings applied to or connected to components to be protected or encoded. The decoding or security key data is included as part of the network layout and/or switching logic such that physical changes to the network prevent the recovery of the key data. Nodes in the network may include sensors meant to change node or network behavior based on sensor detection results.

Dynamically reconfigurable 2D topology communication and verification scheme

A conformal electro-magnetic (EM) shield and a method of applying such a shield are provided herein as well as variations thereof. Variations include, but are not limited to, frequency-selective shielding, shields containing active and/or passive electronic components, and strippable shields that can easily be applied to and removed from underlying components. Variations of a shield structure include at least an insulating layer between the underling component and the shield, and shielding and/or capping layers disposed over the insulating layer.

Serviceable conformal EM shield

A protective, anti-tamper coating and methods of coating creation and application are provided. The coating may include an elastomeric layer to allow for strippability/removal. The coating may also include a 'smart layer' for tamper detection, imaging prevention, and tamper prevention or underlying device de-activation/alteration upon tamper detection. The coating may also include one or more ground planes around the smart layer and one or more frangible layers designed to interrupt or alter smart layer function in the event of a tamper attempt.
