According to one aspect, embodiments herein provide a digital unit cell comprising a photodiode, an integration capacitor coupled to the photodiode and configured to accumulate charge generated by the photodiode responsive to an input light signal incident on the photodiode over an integration period, a comparator coupled to the integration capacitor and configured to compare a voltage across the integration capacitor with a voltage reference and to generate a clock signal at a first level each time a determination is made that the voltage across the integration capacitor is greater than the voltage reference, a shift register coupled to the comparator and configured to receive the clock signal from the comparator and increase a count value each time the clock signal at the first level is received from the comparator, and an output coupled to the shift register and configured to provide the count value to an external system.

According to one aspect, embodiments herein provide a unit cell circuit comprising a photodetector, a first integration capacitor, a first input circuit configured to maintain charge on the integration capacitor corresponding to photo-current received from the photodetector during an integration period, a first comparator coupled to the first integration capacitor and configured to compare a first integration voltage across the first integration capacitor to a first threshold reference voltage, a register coupled to the first comparator, and a counter coupled to the register and configured to repeatedly increment a counter value over the integration period, wherein in response to determining that the first integration voltage is at a certain level in relation to the first threshold reference voltage, the first comparator is further configured to output a first output signal configured to control the register to latch the counter value of the counter.

The second range of wavelengths comprises a second plurality of spectral bands. The apparatus additionally includes optics configured to focus the energy from a scene towards the microbolometer array. The apparatus further includes a processor configured to generate an output based on a response of the microbolometer array to energy having a third range of wavelengths comprising a third plurality of spectral bands. There is substantial overlap between the first, second, and third range of wavelengths and the first, second, and third plurality of spectral bands.

According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for adjusting a position of an object to compensate for tilt includes providing a rotatable base supporting an object and directing the object relative to the base such that the position of the object is controlled relative to a first axis. The object is stabilized along a second axis. The object is positioned relative to the base using at least one bearing arm. The at least one bearing arm movably couples the object to the base at a first position relative to a third axis and a fourth axis. The at least one bearing arm includes a first portion and a second portion, which are coincident with the third axis and fourth axis, respectively. The object is adjusted to a second position using the at least one bearing arms to maintain the first axis when a tilt angle of the base is detected.
