Systems, devices, methods, and computer-readable storage media of channel switching. One device for channel switching includes a memory and at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to communicatively couple with one or more client devices, using one of a primary bandwidth channel or a secondary bandwidth channel and transmit a first trigger on at least the primary bandwidth channel to at least a first client device of the one or more client devices based on at least one of (i) a bandwidth availability (ii) a quality of service parameter, or (iii) a secondary bandwidth switching capability, wherein the first client device switches from the primary bandwidth channel to the secondary bandwidth channel in response to the first trigger.

Systems for and methods of dynamic subband operation

Systems, methods, and devices for conducting wireless communication are provided. One method includes identifying a location of a device and obtaining spectrum usage data from a database. The spectrum usage data indicates a licensed entity licensed within an area including the location of the device to communicate across a first sub-band of frequencies within a frequency band, and one or more transmission characteristics of the transmissions of the licensed entity. The method further includes determining beam steering characteristics for wireless transmissions of the device within the frequency band using the spectrum usage data. The beam steering characteristics are determined using the transmission characteristics for the licensed entity and configured to reduce interference with the transmissions of the licensed entity within the frequency band caused by the wireless transmissions of the device. The method further includes conducting wireless transmissions over the frequency band using the beam steering characteristics.

Methods and systems for coexistence with licensed entities using beam steering

Embodiments of systems and methods for wireless communication in a wireless network include generation of a bandwidth query report poll (BQRP) frame by an access point and transmission of the BQRP frame to multiple wireless stations. The BQRP frame includes a bandwidth query for each station. Each wireless station receives the BQRP frame and generates a bandwidth query report. The bandwidth query report includes channel availability information at a corresponding wireless station. The access point allocates channel resources to each wireless station according to the channel availability information.

A multi-link device may be configured to initiate transmission of a first data unit on a first wireless link of a first multi-link device, and request transmission of a trigger from a second multi-link device on a second wireless link. In response to receiving the trigger, the multi-link device may align a last symbol end time of a response transmission on the second wireless link with a last symbol end time of the first data unit being transmitted on the first multi-link device.

Multi-link operation with triggered alignment of frames

A device implementing unified coordination of wireless communications over multiple physical layers may include a MAC module communicatively coupled to first and second physical layer modules that are each configured to communicate with another device over first and second physical wireless channels, respectively. The MAC module may be configured to provide data to the first physical layer module for transmission to the another device over the first physical wireless channel, where the first physical wireless channel is associated with a first link parameter. The MAC module may be further configured to facilitate initializing the second physical wireless channel based at least in part on the first link parameter of the first physical wireless channel, and after initialization of the second physical wireless channel, provide second data to the second physical layer module for transmission to the another device over the second physical wireless channel.

Unified coordination of multiple physical layer devices

A wireless communication system for minimum allocation includes an access point (AP) and a number of stations (STAs) communicating with the AP via a network such as a wireless local area network. The AP can identify an STA to which a trigger frame is to be sent by the AP. The AP further determines the amount of resources to be provided by the AP to the identified STA through the trigger frame. The AP can also determine a frequency of sending the trigger frame to the STA. The resources can include a frequency allocation, a time duration and a modulation coding scheme. The time duration is a maximum receive (RX) physical-layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) duration.

Minimum allocation signaling

In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for utilizing protocols to enable two 802.11 devices to exchange their dynamically-changing local channel availability table and form a mutual channel availability table with time, frequency, and transmission rate domains available. This table may be used to make optimum opportunistic use of link resources by adapting packet duration, frequency utilization and transmission rate to channel conditions.

Protocols for flexible channel utilization

A wireless communication device (alternatively, device) includes a processor configured to support communications with other wireless communication device(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. In some examples, the device includes a communication interface and a processor, among other possible circuitries, components, elements, etc. to support communications with other device(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. A device generates and transmits a resource and association poll frame (ra-poll frame) to other device(s). The contents of ra-poll frame direct which of the other device(s) is authorized to respond to the device (e.g., authorized device(s)) and the manner in which they are authorized to respond. Authorized device(s) transmit responses that may include association request(s) and/or a resource request(s), among other types of communications. The device then generates and transmits acknowledgement(s) (ACK(s)) indicates successful receipt of any responses from the authorized device(s).

Mechanisms for single user (SU) and multiple user (MU) transmission and association via polling within wireless communications

Coordination and synchronization is performed between two or more wireless network managers (e.g., access points (APs)). A first wireless network manager supports first communications with first other wireless communication devices, and a second wireless network manager supports second communications with those first and/or second other wirelessly case devices. The first and second wireless network managers also support communications with one another to coordinate the first and second communications supported with the first and/or second other wireless communication devices. Examples of coordination include selection of which other wireless communication devices are serviced or in communication with which of the first and second wireless network managers, selection of operational parameters (e.g., modulation coding set (MCS), beamforming, frequency band assignment, channel assignment, scheduling information, transmit power, etc.) for the first and second wireless communication devices, synchronization to a common clock (e.g., using timing synchronization function (TSF)).

Inter-AP coordination and synchronization within wireless communications

A wireless communication device (alternatively, device) includes a processing circuitry configured to support communications with other wireless communication device(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. In some examples, the device includes a communication interface and a processing circuitry, among other possible circuitries, components, elements, etc. to support communications with other wireless communication device(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. A device receives a request to send (RTS) from another device and replies with a clear to send (CTS) when the RTS includes a non-zero-valued network allocation vector (NAV) if one or more conditions make such a response permissible. The device processes other parameter(s) associated with other communications between other devices to determine if a CTS response is permissible even during the other communications between the other devices. If comparison of the other parameter(s) is/are favorably to certain condition(s), the device transmits the CTS.

Spatial reuse clear to send (CTS) within wireless communications

A wireless communication device (alternatively, device, WDEV, etc.) includes at least one processing circuitry configured to support communications with other WDEV(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. In some examples, the device includes a communication interface and a processing circuitry, among other possible circuitries, components, elements, etc. to support communications with other WDEV(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. The WDEV generate a first orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) frame that specifies information regarding resource unit (RUs) to be used by other WDEV. The WDEV transmits the first OFDMA frame to other WDEVs and receives a second OFDMA frame from the WDEVs based on some RUs specified within the first OFDMA frame. The WDEV then generates and transmits a third OFDMA frame to the other WDEVs (e.g., based on RU(s) spanning RU(s) within which information is received in the second OFDMA frame).
