A method for assembling a component to a structure includes determining, by a controller, a location on the structure for a placement of the component onto the structure. The method further includes activating, by the controller, a light source to project a visual indicator onto the location. The method also includes actuating, by the controller, a robotic implement to locate and position the component at the location based on the visual indicator projected onto the location.

Method and system for assembling components to structures

A robotic system includes a robotic arm, a base couple coupled to the robotic arm, and a controller. The robotic supports a work implement and is configured to move the work implement to perform an operation on a workpiece. The base is configured to be removably coupled to a mounting surface. The controller is in communication with the robotic arm, the work implement, and the base. Further, the controller is configured to disable the operation of at least one of the robotic arm and the work implement if a coupling parameter between the base and the mounting surface is below a threshold value.

A monitoring component may communicate with the phased array ultrasonic sensor via the communication device, and may be configured to receive signals from the phased array ultrasonic sensor and monitor the topography of the ground engaging tool.

An erosion monitoring system is disclosed for use with a machine. The erosion monitoring system may have an ultrasonic sensor embedded within a replaceable cutting edge of a ground engaging tool connectable to the machine. The erosion monitoring system may also have a wireless communication element associated with the ultrasonic sensor, and a controller mountable onboard the machine in communication with the ultrasonic sensor via the wireless communication element. The controller may be configured to monitor a wear rate of the cutting edge based on signals from the ultrasonic sensor.
