An asynchronous medium access control layer scheduler increases efficiency for directional mesh networks by removing extra overhead in the time slots. The efficiency is increased by dividing time slots into sub-slots to allow for a receiving node to be offset by at least one sub-slot from the transmitting node. This enables the scheduler to more efficiently schedule operations for the nodes so that nodes can be performing other functions rather than waiting to receive a transmission or waiting after transmitting a transmission. The sub-slots may be sized to approximate the transmission propagation time or time of flight delay.

Asynchronous medium access control layer scheduler for directional networks

The system and method generates a pulse or a signal that is transmitted between a central processing unit or processor and an Ethernet integrated circuit card to program a trigger generator in the IC. The pulse is effectively a 1PPS signal that is provided to the IC, which may be in the form a field programmable gate array to enable timing synchronization. The trigger in the IC may also generates an interrupt to the processor so a driver in the CPU is instructed to set the next trigger. For the trigger to be accurately controlled, the control routine is implemented in the driver existing in kernel space rather than user space. A routine or protocol periodically polls the interrupt to determine when the trigger must be reset.

System and method for timing synchronization

A set of methods for discovery of nodes where at least some of the nodes use directional antennas is presented. The methods consist primarily of partitioning the search space into tiers based on elevation angles and adjusting parameters used to construct tiling patterns and slots for discovery messaging, and search methods patterns. The methods further include partitioning into subslots as well as characterization of HAIL slots and rendezvous slots. The HAIL slots and rendezvous slots are allocated within a search schedule and synched across multiple platforms for greater efficiency of communication.

A wideband chaotic waveform that is rateless in that it may be modulated at virtually any rate and has a minimum of features introduced into the waveform. Further, the waveform provided may be operated below a signal to noise ratio wall to further enhance the LPD and LPE aspects, thereof. Additionally, the present disclosure may provide a mix of coherent and non-coherent processing techniques applied to signal samples to efficiently achieve coarse synchronization with a waveform that is faster, more efficient and more accurate than using time domain signal correlators alone.

A digital or smart array antenna has at least one radio and a processor coupled to each antenna element. The processor is coupled with programmable logic that demodulates a plurality of signals received at one antenna element to obtain demodulation symbols. After obtaining the demodulation symbols, the programmable logic applies a weighting function. In this order or sequence, the digital array antenna is able to reduce the processing requirements associating within the signal information. The reduced processing requirements enable the signal information to be shared with adjacent antenna elements that may be timing adjusted between adjacent elements. Then, the sharing continues across all elements the array until the signal reaches an edge of the array. At the edge of the array, a signal beam may be generated that is steer in response to the processed signal information shared between all the elements in the array.

The present disclosure relates generally to a network system having multiple users, multiple inputs, and multiple outputs to transmit data from a data source through a link to a data sink. One example of a Multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) system relates to the use of primary transceivers and secondary transceivers in respective networks that effectuate data transmission. The primary transceivers are coupled with a data source and broadcast or transmit the data source signal to a plurality of secondary transceivers in a local area network. The signal is then transmitted over a long link to another set of secondary transceivers that then pass the signal to another primary transceiver. This another primary transceiver is coupled with the data sink to effectuate signal transmission to the data sink. The data is synchronized in manner that requires minimal processing and does not require closed loop phase control.

Multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) system and methods

A spectrum sharing system includes an advanced beacon (e.g. a low latency RF link) as part of an information sharing subsystem. The advanced beacon signal carries radar spectrum transmission schedule in an obfuscated way such as not to reveal the geolocation of the radar. The information sharing subsystem directs nodes, such as cell phones, to share spectrum based on spectrum sharing instructions contained in the advanced beacon. The spectrum sharing system permits out-of-band sharing of spectrum white space, as well as sharing of in-band spectrum gray space.

A method and a system of managing a policy managed system that includes a policy managed element. The method restricts the policy managed element so that internal configurations and actions of the policy managed element do not violate any policy rules generated external to the policy managed element. The method also prevents the policy managed element from generating policy that exit the policy managed element. The method, at a policy executive element (PEE) located remote from the policy managed element, restricts internal configurations and actions of the PEE so that the PEE does not violate any policy rules generated external to the PEE. The PEE includes a policy generation point (PGP) that the method allows to generate new policy rules that do not violate any existing policy and provides the new policy rules to the policy managed element.

The current disclosure is directed to broadcasting information among nodes in the network. More specifically, the current disclosure relates to directional networking among nodes in the network. The directional broadcasting system allows for a more efficient way to deliver broadcasting information among nodes where at least some of the nodes use directional antennas.

A system and method for controlling a aradio transmitter from the application layer is presented. The method includes monitoring an uplink state of a shared channel at a cell manager and processing the uplink state, at least in part, in the application layer in the cell manager to produce processed uplink state. The processed uplink state is then broadcast in a control packet on a downlink of the shared channel to a subscriber manager. The processed uplink state is then further processed, at least in part, at the application layer in the subscriber manager to produce transmitter control data. The transmitter control data is then used control the radio transmitter.

Method for practicing carrier sense multiple access at the application layer

A system and method for repurposing of cryptographic capabilities in an electronic warfare (EW) environment is presented. A method begins by determining in a client system a cryptographic function to be performed; however, the client system does not have any cryptographic functionality. The client system then requests the cryptographic function be performed in a cryptographic logic that is physically secured with the client system and is external to the client system. The cryptographic logic performs the cryptographic function to produce a cryptographic result. The cryptographic result is then provided to the client system.
