A portable information handling system battery module has a self-contained housing having a battery charger, integrated rechargeable batteries and plural ports to transfer power, such as USB Type C ports having bi-directional power transfer capability. A cable couples first battery module port to a portable information handling system port to provide power to the portable information handling system and accept power from the portable information handling system. Plural additional battery modules daisy chain to the first battery module to accept power from and provide power to the portable information handling system. Power transfer is coordinated with communications through the ports, such as by a USB power transfer protocol supported at the information handling system and each battery module.

The may have a bearing movable relative to the housing, the bearing configured, when moved, to pass through the opening to engage with the projection to couple the cover to the housing.

System and method for attaching portion of equipment to remainder of equipment

An apparatus and associated method are disclosed for facilitating the testing of device connections, including functional shock and vibration testing of peripheral card slots or any other desired connector interface. In part, a power supply located on the peripheral device, or some other external power source, is used to power fault detection circuitry. In this way, faults can be identified, such as through visual fault indicators, without the necessity of powering the system. In addition, simulated peripheral cards are provided that include adjustable weights so that the weight distribution of an actual card can be simulated without the necessity of having a functional peripheral in hand.

Apparatus to facilitate functional shock and vibration testing of device connections and related method

A computer includes a chassis, a heat generating component mounted in the chassis and an airflow generating component mounted in the chassis. A flexible and variable length duct extends between the heat generating component and the airflow generating component. A first shroud is connected to a first terminal end of the duct and is mounted adjacent the heat generating component. A second shroud is connected to a second terminal end of the duct and is mounted adjacent the airflow generating component. As a result, a change of position of the heat generating component relative to the position of the airflow generating component is easily accommodated by the duct.

A toggle heat sink clip assembly includes a support base having a first end and a second end opposite the first end. A spring member has a first end and a second end, the first end of the spring member being pivotally attached to the first end of the support base. A rigid handle has a first end and a second end, the first end of the handle being pivotally attached to the second end of the support base. A rigid pivot member has a first end and a second end, the first end of the pivot member being pivotally attached to the second end of the spring member, and the second end of the pivot member being pivotally attached to a mid portion of the handle. The clip is movable to a locked position whereby a heat sink is retained in secured engagement with a microprocessor in a computer chassis.
