A fiber optic telecommunications device includes a frame and a fiber optic module including a rack mount portion, a center portion, and a main housing portion. The rack mount portion is stationarily coupled to the frame, the center portion is slidably coupled to the rack mount portion along a sliding direction, and the main housing portion is slidably coupled to the center portion along the sliding direction. The main housing portion of the fiber optic module includes fiber optic connection locations for connecting cables to be routed through the frame. The center portion of the fiber optic module includes a radius limiter for guiding cables between the main housing portion and the frame, the center portion also including a latch for unlatching the center portion for slidable movement. Slidable movement of the center portion with respect to the rack mount portion moves the main housing portion with respect to the frame along the sliding direction.

A communications panel includes a chassis receiving one or more tray arrangements that each support one or more cassettes. Each cassette carries a plurality of ports at which connections are made between front and rear plug connectors. Each tray arrangement includes guides along which the cassettes slidably mount. The guides and cassettes are configured to enable cassettes of various size to mount to the same tray without reconfiguring the guides.

A fiber optic adapter block is disclosed. The fiber optic adapter block includes at least three fiber optic adapters provided in a stacked arrangement extending widthwise in a longitudinal direction, wherein every other adapter of the at least three fiber optic adapters is staggered in a front to back direction with respect to an adjacent adapter such that front ends of the every other adapter of the at least three fiber optic adapters are aligned at a first depth and a front end of the adjacent adapter is at a second depth that is different than the first depth.

Tray arrangements for cassettes

A panel arrangement provides at least 288 output fiber connections within 1 rack unit (RU). The panel arrangement includes modules mounted within a chassis. Each module carries a plurality of optical adapters, which each define multiple de-mateable connection interface locations. In certain examples, each connection interface location enables a connection between multiple pairs of optical fibers. A WDM or other optical circuitry may be provided within the module to optically couple an input connection interface location to output connection interface locations.

The present disclosure relates to systems and method for deploying a fiber optic network. Distribution devices are used to index fibers within the system to ensure that live fibers are provided at output locations throughout the system. In an example, fibers can be indexed in multiple directions within the system. In an example, spare ports can be providing in a forward direction and reverse direction ports can also be provided.

Fiber indexing systems

A telecommunications equipment frame including a base, and two vertical uprights, and a top member; the upright members defining an upper equipment zone and a lower cable tray zone. One or more front trays are in the lower cable tray zone, and openings are provided through the frame to one or more rear trays. The equipment zone defined by the two uprights is open without cable management structure for receiving telecommunications equipment. At least one slack storage zone adjacent to the central zone includes a plurality of cable management devices for storing cable slack.

A bladed chassis system facilitates installation of the bladed chassis system and replacement of the blades at the chassis. For example, a front panel of the blade can be opened either upwardly or downwardly at the discretion of the user. Blades can be inserted and removed from the front and/or the rear of the bladed chassis system at the discretion of the user. Cables can be routed to the rear of the chassis system from either of two sides at the discretion of the user. The blades carried by the chassis have fiber management trays that can be rotationally oriented in any desired rotational position at the discretion of the user.

An equipment panel includes one or more trays disposed within a chassis, Each tray has a two-layer termination region. Certain trays have a two-layer splice region. The splice region can be used to optically couple preterminated fibers within the tray to a trunk cable. Alternatively or in addition, the splice region can be used to fix broken fiber connections. A cable anchor and fanout arrangement mounts to the chassis as a unit.

An optical module includes a housing; an optical adapter arrangement disposed at the housing; a cable inlet leading from an exterior of the housing to the interior of the housing; and a splice location disposed within the interior of the housing. Optical pigtails extend from the optical adapter arrangement to the splice location. Certain types of modules have a removable splice tray having a bend radius limiting arrangement surrounding multiple splice channels. Certain types of modules have first and second chambers separated by a wall defining a pass-through aperture.

A cable anchor assembly includes a housing that receives adhesive through a fill inlet to secure a cable relative to the housing. The cable enters and exits the housing through first and second gaskets that hold the adhesive within the housing during filling and curing. Various components enable the orientation of the fill inlet relative to the housing to be changed. In some cases, the fill inlet is defined by the housing. In other examples, the fill inlet is defined by the housing in cooperation with a guide member. In still other cases, the fill inlet is defined by one of the gaskets.
