An aerial vehicle configured for operation within indoor spaces has a meshed construction with a housing defined by upper and lower sections having meshes provided above and below propellers and motors of the aerial vehicle. The aerial vehicle also includes a suite of sensors such as LIDAR sensors, time-of-flight sensors, cameras, ultrasonic sensors, or others. Meshes of the upper and lower sections include central openings along with spokes and concentric rings provided about the central openings. Meshes of the lower section have substantially larger central openings than meshes of the upper section, but feature more dense spokes or concentric rings beneath tips of the rotating propellers, which may be hinged or foldable in nature. Data captured by sensors of the aerial vehicle may be utilized for any purpose, such as to generate environment maps of an indoor space, or to monitor the indoor space for adverse conditions or events.

A docking station for an aerial vehicle includes a frame having an upper rim or perimeter for providing support to the aerial vehicle and defining a depression or a cavity for accommodating portions of the aerial vehicle therein. The depression or cavity includes a plurality of visual markings arranged in a distinct pattern, along with receptacles for receiving landing extensions of an aerial vehicle therein. When an aerial vehicle attempts a docking evolution, a downward-oriented camera of the aerial vehicle captures images of the docking station and detects the plurality of visual markings in the distinct pattern depicted within such images. The aerial vehicle may then execute maneuvers to properly align itself with respect to the distinct pattern during a descent. The frame is formed at angles and from materials that are selected to enable landing extensions of an aerial vehicle to slide into receptacles and complete a docking evolution.

A device includes a first housing, a camera residing at least partially within the first housing, a switch residing at least partially within the first housing, and a second housing coupled to the first housing and at least partially residing within the first housing. The switch is configured to disable the camera. The second housing includes a receptacle configured to receive a battery, and an arm having a tab configured to engage and disengage a lever of the switch to disable the camera. One or more contacts at least partially reside within the first housing and are configured to electrically connect to an accessory coupled to the first housing.

An audio/video (A/V) device includes a first housing and a second housing that rotationally couples and uncouples to the first housing. The first housing includes a frame having a first cavity, a second cavity, and a wall disposed between the first cavity and the second cavity. The first housing further includes a mirror that extends between the first cavity and the second cavity, a first passive infrared (PIR) sensor at least partially disposed within the first cavity, and a second PIR sensor at least partially disposed within the second cavity. The second housing includes a loudspeaker.

A device includes a camera and a privacy cover configured to rotate between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the camera is deactivated and the privacy cover obstructs the camera. In the second position, the camera is activated and the camera is unobstructed by the privacy cover. A first indication is visible through a portion of the privacy cover in the first position, the first indication indicating that the camera is deactivated. A second indication is visible through the portion of the privacy cover in the second position, the second indication indicating that the camera is activated.

A device includes a housing, a camera at least partially disposed within the housing, one or more microphones at least partially disposed within the housing, and a printed circuit board (PCB) including a switch. The switch has a lever that is transitionable between a displaced position and a non-displaced position. A privacy cover couple to the housing and includes a rib disposed on an interior surface of the privacy cover. The privacy cover is transitionable between a first position in which the camera is obstructed and the rib is engaged with the lever to transition the lever to the displaced position, and a second position in which the camera is unobstructed and the rib is disengaged with the lever such that the lever is permitted to transition to the non-displaced position.
