An approach for optimizing server-based loads between data centers. The approach receives data from a hardware abstraction layer (HAL) associated with servers in a plurality of data centers. The approach filters the data associated with a portion of the data centers having the highest power usage and thermal state conditions. The approach aggregates the filtered data into performance data groups based on association with a data center. The approach creates two-ratio statistics of the aggregated groups. The approach generates a data center score based on the two-ratio statistics. The approach selects data center sites with the lowest scores. The approach initiates a request to transfer server-based loads from the servers associated with the filtered data to the data center sites with the lowest scores.

Cloud financial load optimization based on power and thermal statistics aggregation

A computer-implemented method, according to one embodiment, includes: monitoring data requests that are performed on a logical volume in memory at a source location, and tracking changes that are made to data in the logical volume as a result of performing the data requests. A determination is made as to whether a preestablished amount of the data in the logical volume has been changed as a result of performing the data requests since a previous snapshot of the logical volume was captured. Moreover, in response to determining that a preestablished amount of the data in the logical volume has been changed as a result of performing the data requests since a previous snapshot of the logical volume was captured, a new snapshot of the logical volume is captured.

Selectively capturing snapshots of volumes based on modified capacity

A mechanism is provided for efficiently debugging software code. A set of modified log files associated with the software code is presented to a software debugging user. Responsive to receiving an indication from the software debugging user to tag a portion of a modified log file of the set of modified log files with a tag, the portion of the modified log file is tagged such that the tag of the portion of the modified log file is utilized in debugging the software code. The tag of the portion of the modified log file is propagated to a plurality of other software debugging users who are viewing the modified log file.
