System and methods are disclosed that improve the speed, efficiency and usefulness of digital video recording systems. In some embodiments, during recording of a video capturing live action, a video recorder receives an indication of selection of a dynamic in-point selection user interface element. The video recorder determines an in-point for the video based on when the indication of the selection of the dynamic in-point selection user interface element was received. The video recorder then stops recording of the video in response to user input indicating to stop recording of the video. After stopping recording of the video, in response to user input indicating to start playing the video that was recorded, the video recorder starts playing the video from the in-point instead of a beginning of the video. In other embodiments, the user may be provided options to keep the entire originally recorded video, adjust the in-point, or to have the video be automatically edited based on the in-point in response to some other action, such as uploading the video to a social media site.

Systems and methods for versatile video recording

Various arrangements for authorizing content viewing are detailed herein. Sports wager data corresponding to a sports wager placed by a user may be provided to a television service provider system. The television service provider system can perform a lookup action to determine a content event based on the sports wager data. In response to the received sports wager data, a user account may be authorized using a rights scheme for access to a television channel on which the content event is scheduled to be broadcast. The television service provider system may deauthorized the user account for access to the television channel by removing the rights scheme such that access to the television channel on which the content event was broadcast is blocked after the event.

Temporary television rights scheme grant based on uncertain measurable events

Techniques are provided for experience-adaptive interaction with uncertain measurable events (UMEs), such as in a sports wagering context. A back-end wagering system of a television service provider system is disposed in a television network to provide subscribers with subscription content services for live event content and UME interaction services for viewing and placing wagers on live event content with a UME book provider. Embodiments can build data spaces at least of available live event content and wagerable UMEs being provided for the live event content. Embodiments can assign a wager experience score to a subscribers based on experience level with UME interactions, and can use the built data space and the wager experience score to generate an experience-tailored set of wager offers for the subscriber. The set of wager offers can then be presented to the subscriber in an experience-tailored UME interaction interface.

Experience-adaptive interaction interface for uncertain measurable events engagement

Various arrangements for group-based content viewing are presented herein. A television service provider system may receive wager data corresponding to a live content event for multiple user accounts that are grouped together. A viewing group for the live content event may be created for the grouped user accounts. Wager data corresponding to the user accounts may be transmitted to content viewing devices for the multiple user accounts. The live content event can be output for presentation concurrently with presentation of an indication of the at least one wager on the live content event linked to each user account.

Group televised content viewing interactions

Various arrangements for communicating with a device utilizing an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are presented. A backend system may detect a triggering event associated with a device based upon data received via a first connection. In response to detecting the first triggering event, the UAV may receive a first data set and a location associated with the device from the backend system. The UAV may deploy to the received location. A second connection between the UAV and the device can be established at the received location. The UAV may transmit the first data set to the device via the second connection at the received location.

Embodiments are directed towards selecting content search results based on the age of the viewer. The content receiver receives search criteria for a viewer, which may include the age of the viewer. The content receiver obtains search results from a search of a plurality of content. The search results are prioritized based on the age of the viewer and presented to the viewer. In this way, searching for 'dog' for a four year-old may provide or prioritize different results compared to search for 'dog' for an eight year-old.
