Example shoe manufacturing methods and related computer readable medium for implementing a portion of said manufacturing methods are disclosed herein. In some examples, the method includes placing an upper member about an upper portion of a last, wherein the last is a form for the shoe. In addition, the method includes producing a lasting based on data relating to a foot of a user, and attaching the lasting to the upper member, wherein the lasting extends over a lower portion of the last. Further, the method includes molding a sole onto the lasting and the upper member, and removing the last from the upper member.

Shoe manufacturing

Example shoe manufacturing methods and related computer readable medium for implementing a portion of said manufacturing methods are disclosed herein. In some examples, the method includes producing a lower portion of a last based on data relating to a foot of a user. In addition, the method includes placing an upper member about the last such that a lasting of the upper member extends over the lower portion of the last. Further, the method includes producing a midsole element based on the data relating to the foot of the user, and attaching the midsole element to the upper member such that the lasting is disposed between the lower portion of the last and the midsole element.

An example customizable shoe last includes a solid portion and an adjustable portion. The adjustable portion includes a moldable material that is selectively solidifiable for footwear manufacture. The customizable shoe last also includes an interchangeable mold cover to enclose the adjustable portion.

In some examples, an apparatus comprises a platform having an upper surface to contact a plantar surface of a human foot positioned on the platform, a first pressure sensor to sense a pressure applied to the upper surface by a heel of the human foot, and a first probe extending through an opening in the platform and movable vertically upward through the opening to probe an adipose layer on a bottom of the heel. The apparatus also comprises a first actuator to displace the first probe upwardly against the adipose layer with a predetermined force, and a linear displacement sensor to sense a vertical displacement of the first probe.

An example system comprising a pressure sensor array, a proximity sensor comprising circuitry to sense an object approaching the pressure sensor array based on a change in a resonance frequency of the proximity sensor, and a controller to receive from the proximity sensor the sensed change in the resonance frequency and designate the pressure sensor array as active responsive to the sensed resonance frequency being below a threshold or inactive responsive to the sensed resonance frequency being above the threshold, wherein a data transmission rate of the active pressure sensor array is greater than a data transmission rate of the inactive pressure sensor array.

In some examples, an assembly for a footwear includes a cell comprising a housing structure, the cell comprising a first chamber to contain a fluid. The assembly further includes a port and a vibrator responsive to activation to cause a reduction in fluid flow through the port between the first chamber and a second chamber by changing a characteristic of the fluid in the port.

In an example implementation, a method of cooling a 3D build volume includes receiving a 3D object model that represents a 3D part to be formed in a build volume, and determining a placeholder position for forming a placeholder part within the build volume. Based on the placeholder position, a 3D part position is determined for forming the 3D part within the build volume. The method also includes controlling components of a 3D printing system to form the placeholder part in the placeholder position within the build volume and to form the 3D part in the 3D part position within the build volume.

An example device including a laser source for generating a laser pulse, a scanner for mounting the laser source, and a motion detector for detecting a motion of the scanner when the laser pulse scans an object. The motion detector includes an optical sensor for generating an optical signal based on the motion of the scanner, and a controller. The controller determines a movement of the scanner and disables the laser source when the scanner ceases to move.

Print glossing is described. Print glossing can be performed on a glossing drum having a location affixed to a circumferential outer surface thereof, where the location transits from a first position in an apparatus having a first temperature range selected to enable reflow of ink applied to a substrate that is placed at the location to a second position in the apparatus having a second temperature range selected for clean release from the location of the ink applied to the substrate.

In one example, a processor readable medium has instructions thereon that, when executed by a processor, cause a system to detect a change in electrical conduction of a liquid moving at an interface between two surfaces and determine a conductivity of the liquid based on the detected change in conduction.

Reducing print quality defects can include printing a pattern with an offset printing device having a binary ink developer roller, determining a variation for a hue shift of the printed pattern; and varying gain in a feedback loop of a servo motor coupled to the binary ink developer roller to reduce the variation.

Techniques are provided for reducing pattern glare. A font size that reduces pattern glare may be determined through a series of tests. A density that reduces pattern glare may be determined through a series of tests. A color that reduces pattern glare may be determined through a series of tests. The determined parameters may be used to create a profile that is usable in different environments.

Systems and methods for varying dye loads. A fluid ejection apparatus includes a reservoir and an assembly. The reservoir stores ink with a first dye load and the assembly receives the ink with the first dye load from the reservoir. To obtain ink with higher dye load, the assembly evaporates a portion of the liquid solvent in the ink to obtain ink with a higher dye load.
