A method for validating a flow calibration factor of a flow meter is provided according to an embodiment of the invention. The method for validating a flow calibration factor of a flow meter includes determining an initial flexural stiffness of a component of the flow meter. The method for validating a flow calibration factor of a flow meter includes determining a current flexural stiffness of the component. The method for validating a flow calibration factor of a flow meter further includes comparing the initial flexural stiffness to the current flexural stiffness. The method for validating a flow calibration factor of a flow meter further includes detecting a calibration error condition responsive to comparing the initial flexural stiffness to the current flexural stiffness.

Diagnostic apparatus and methods for a coriolis flow meter

A flow control system includes a substantially rigid vessel with a process fluid reservoir situated in the rigid vessel is in fluid communication with an outlet. A movable member and/or a working fluid is situated in the rigid vessel so as to selectively expel process fluid from the outlet. Where a movable member is employed, movement of the movable member in a first direction causes process fluid to be drawn into an inlet and movement of the movable member in a second direction causes process fluid to be expelled from the outlet. In other implementations, the working fluid is metered into a working fluid reservoir to compress a flexible process fluid reservoir and expel process fluid therefrom.

Flow control system

A method of manufacturing a Coriolis flowmeter for the measurement of a process material requiring an ultra high level of purity. This is achieved by forming the entire flow path of the Coriolis flow meter from a PFA plastic material that does not transfer ions from the Coriolis flowmeter to the process material flowing through the flowmeter.

Method of manufacturing a Coriolis flowmeter

A flow meter is disclosed that is comprised of a base, a driver, pick-offs, and a flow tube made from a fluoropolymer substance. The base of the flow meter is comprised of a first leg and a second leg. The first leg includes a tube opening and an adhesive opening and the second leg includes a tube opening and an adhesive opening. The flow tube passes through the tube openings of the first leg and the second leg. The tube opening of the first leg has a diameter slightly larger than the flow tube to create a gap between the tube opening and the flow tube. The adhesive opening of the first leg provides access to the gap so that adhesive may be applied to the flow tube and an inner surface of the tube opening to affix the flow tube to the base. The adhesive opening in the second leg performs the same function.

Manufacturing flow meters having a flow tube made of a fluoropolymer substance

Flowmeter for the precision measurement of an ultra-pure material flow

A mass flow measurement and control device includes an enclosure with a Coriolis mass flowmeter situated therein. The Coriolis mass flowmeter has a flow-tube made of a high-purity plastic material, a driver coupled to the flow tube for vibrating the flow tube, and a pickoff coupled to the flow tube for sensing Coriolis deflections of the vibrating flow tube. A pinch valve includes an elastomeric tube made of a high-purity plastic material in fluid communication with the flow tube. An actuator with a ram operatively connected thereto is situated adjacent the elastomeric tube, and a reference surface is positioned generally opposite the ram such that the elastomeric tube is squeezable between the ram and the reference surface. A controller may also be provided, which receives an output signal from the Coriolis flowmeter and provides a control output signal to the pinch valve actuator in response to the flowmeter output signal and a setpoint signal.

High purity coriolis mass flow controller

A parameter sensor including a conduit configured to contain a material is controlled. A first excitation applied to the conduit is determined. Motion of the conduit in response to the first excitation is determined. A second excitation to apply to the conduit is determined from the determined first excitation, the determined motion in response to the first excitation, a desired motion for the conduit, and a frequency response for the conduit. In particular, excitations may be iteratively determined and applied to the conduit, and motion signals representing motion of the excited conduit may be processed to generate process parameter estimates, such as mass flow rate estimates. The frequency response may be assumed to be time-invariant, or may be adaptively estimated. The invention may be embodied as methods, apparatus and computer program products.
