An exhaust system that utilizes high volume, low speed (HVLS) fans for exhausting air from data storage facilities (e.g., data centers) is disclosed. The exhaust system includes modular exhaust devices that may be positioned on curb structures on a roof of the facility. The modular exhaust devices are positioned vertically above the HVLS fans with openings in the roof vertically between the fans and the devices. The modular exhaust devices include a v-shaped conduit to direct air to openings on either side of the v-shaped conduit. Butterfly dampers may be placed on the openings in the modular exhaust devices to inhibit rain from entering the facility when the fans are off or at low speeds that don't prevent rain from entering the facility.

High volume, low pressure exhaust system

A filtration system for a datacenter or other building can include filter media arranged in an airflow path between an inlet and an outlet each configured for air flow therethrough relative to a chamber. The chamber may be defined at least in part by walls and a floor of a room of the building, for example. The filtration system can further include a dust dislodgment system that dislodges dust accumulated in the filter media. For example, dislodged dust may be permitted to fall toward the floor. The filtration system can further include a dust collection system for collecting and/or removing dislodged dust, such as from the floor.

Air filtration system for datacenter or other building

A cooling system, e.g. for a hot aisle/cold aisle datacenter system, can detect local pressure differences between the hot and cold aisle by way of a conduit containing a temperature sensor positioned between the hot aisle and cold aisle. The temperature sensor can detect a temperature of airflow between the aisles by the temperature sensor in the conduit. This conduit is defined by a frame or insert that includes a first opening and a second opening separated by a nonzero distance and that is configured to penetrate a containment element separating the hot aisle and cold aisle. The cooling system can, based on the interstitial temperature, determine a direction of flow of the airflow between the hot region and the cold region and detect recirculation between the hot region and the cold region based on the direction of flow.
