This invention provides activator precursor compositions and activator compositions. The activator precursor compositions are formed from a support material, a linking compound, and polyfunctional compounds having at least two aromatic groups in which at least two of said aromatic groups each has at least one polar moiety thereon. The activator compositions are formed from a support material, a linking compound, an aluminoxane, and a polyfunctional compound having at least two aromatic groups in which at least two of said aromatic groups each has at least one polar moiety thereon. Also provided are catalyst compositions, processes for forming catalyst compositions, and polymerization processes utilizing the catalyst compositions of this invention.

Activator compositions, their preparation, and their use in catalysts

Multiple components are selected, conveyed, and measured in a polymerization system. A control system adjusts the system variables to the desired values. Portions of the components can be fed to a pre-contactor before introduction into the polymerization reactor. The catalyst component concentrations and residence times are tightly controlled in the pre-contactor to affect product properties. The pre-contactor can be a single or multiple combinations of a CSTR or plug flow pre-contactors.

Multiple component feed methods and systems

Certain metallocene compounds are provided that, when used as a component in a supported polymerization catalyst under industrially relevant polymerization conditions, afford high molar mass homo polymers or copolymers like polypropylene or propylene/ethylene copolymers without the need for any &#x3b1;-branched substituent in either of the two available 2-positions of the indenyl ligands. The substituent in the 2-position of one indenyl ligand can be any radical comprising hydrogen, methyl, or any other C-Chydrocarbon which is not branched in the &#x3b1;-position, and the substituent in the 2-position of the other indenyl ligand can be any C-Chydrocarbon radical with the proviso that this hydrocarbon radical is branched in the &#x3b2;-position. This metallocene topology affords high melting point, very high molar mass homo polypropylene and very high molar mass propylene-based copolymers. The activity/productivity levels of catalysts including the metallocenes of the present invention are exceptionally high.

Metallocene compounds, catalysts comprising them, process for producing an olefin polymer by use of the catalysts, and olefin homo- and copolymers

This invention relates to the field of olefin polymerization catalyst compositions, and methods for the polymerization and copolymerization of olefins, including polymerization methods using a supported catalyst composition. In one aspect, the present invention encompasses a catalyst composition comprising the contact product of a first metallocene compound, a second metallocene compound, at least one chemically-treated solid oxide, and at least one organoaluminum compound. The new resins were characterized by useful properties in impact, tear, adhesion, sealing, extruder motor loads and pressures at comparable melt index values, and neck-in and draw-down.

Catalyst compositions and polyolefins for extrusion coating applications

This invention relates to catalyst compositions, methods, and polymers encompassing at least one first Group 4 metallocene compound comprising bridging &#x3b7;-cyclopentadienyl-type ligands, in combination with at least one second Group 4 metallocene with non-bridging &#x3b7;-cyclopentadienyl-type ligands, typically in combination with at least one cocatalyst, and at least one activator.
