A connector is disclosed. The connector includes a connector housing having a terminal channel and a terminal positioned within the terminal channel. The connector includes a primary locking mechanism including a locking beam configured to engage a first terminal locking surface and a secondary locking mechanism including a locking hinge having a locking foot configured to engage a second terminal locking surface. The locking hinge is configured to pivot from a staging position to permit passage of the terminal into the connector through the terminal channel to an operative position to retain the terminal within the terminal channel and establish a position of maximum rearward travel of the terminal within the terminal channel.

An electrical connector assembly includes an inner housing, where the inner housing includes a rib which is alignable with the slot in an outer housing to polarize the inner and outer housings together. The rib includes an interruption providing a gap in the rib defining a forward rib portion and an aft rib portion. Alternatively, the inner housing can be received directly in a mating low profile housing where a flexible arm containing an aperture is received over the forward rib portion to latch the two housings together.

An electrical connector is shown having a housing and a secondary lock member which is movable between a terminal insertion position and a terminal lock position. A primary locking latch of the connector housing is defined by an arch-shaped member having upstanding posts which flank the terminal receiving passageway and have a depending cantilever latch arm extending forwardly therefrom and extending into the terminal passageway. The latch is resiliently movable in multiple directions during the terminal insertion, as the posts can be movable in a longitudinal direction while at the same time the latch arm can be resiliently moved in a cantilevered beam fashion depending from the arch member. The slidable secondary lock is moved into a position behind the arch member, and secondarily locks the terminal in place, while at the same time provides a backup to the arch members of the locking latch.

Ground lead with integrated bushing apparatus and method

An assembly that mounts components to a module box is disclosed. Large components, such as capacitors, can take up appreciable amounts space on a circuit board. If these components are mounted to the module box, there will be more surfaces on the circuit for other components. In an illustrated embodiment, three capacitors are mounted to a module box using three separate plastic cradles. The module can be made of plastic or metal as necessary. The component cradles are preferably secured to the box by an interference fit between the hole and posts. Alternate methods to secure the component cradles include snap fit, heat staking or epoxy. The component cradles also provide alignment of the pins that extend through the circuit that will eventually be mounted on the box. The pins are electrically fixed to the circuit board by either solder or press fit means.

Apparatus, methods and articles of manufacture for a module box with integrated components

An electrical connector is provided including matable first and second housings configured to receive electrical contacts. The electrical connector assembly includes a lever member having a cam arm engaging the first and second housing to connect the first and second housings to join corresponding electrical contacts. The first housing has a latch assembly engaging the lever member when the lever member is in a final engaged position. The first housing has a locking member that holds the cam arm in an insertion position. The first housing has a wire shield with feet and a tab that is retained in slots and a catch on the first housing. The electrical contacts have retention features that are retained in an encapsulate in a chamber abutting the second housing.
