In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a headset is described. The headset includes a sensory input device and a pad surrounding the sensory input device. The pad includes a thermo-electric cooling (TEC) device having a first side and a second side. The first side is to cool and the second side is to heat when a voltage is applied to the TEC device. The pad also includes a cooling layer in contact with the first side of the TEC device and a heat spreading layer in contact with the second side of the TEC device. The pad also includes an enclosing material enveloping the pad.

Thermo-electric cooling headsets

Examples of synchronization of a gyroscope in a virtual-reality (VR) environment are described. In some examples, gyroscopic feedback for VR application content may be predicted. In some examples, a time shift corresponding to a physical system lag of a gyroscope may be added to synchronize the gyroscopic feedback with the VR application content. In some examples, the gyroscopic feedback may be applied based on the time shift.

In an example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a method may include receiving a temperature reading from a sensor coupled to the head mounted unit. A delta may be calculated based on the temperature reading and a predetermined temperature. A thermo-electric cooling device may be activated based on the delta surpassing a threshold. The thermo-electric cooling device utilizes thermally conductive plates, padding and fabric to transfer thermal energy.

In an example implementation, a self-cooling headset includes an ear cup to form an ear enclosure volume and a control volume. The headset also includes an intake valve to open and admit air from the ear enclosure volume into the control volume when a negative pressure is generated within the control volume, and an exhaust valve to open and release air from the control volume into the ambient environment when a positive pressure is generated within the control volume.

Self-cooling headsets

In an example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a method may include receiving a first data value from a sensor coupled to a headset. The first data value indicates a condition indicative of condensation local to the sensor. A first delta based on the first data value and a predetermined condensation data value is determined. Based on the first delta surpassing a first threshold, a cooling device coupled to the headset is deactivated.

An electronic pointing device includes a housing. In addition, the electronic device includes a position transducer coupled to the housing. Further, the electronic pointing device includes a plurality of electrical switches coupled to the housing. Still further, the electronic pointing device includes a cover plate removably coupled to the housing. The cover plate includes a plurality of holes, each hole aligned with one of the plurality of electrical switches. The electronic pointing device also includes a plurality of button members. Each button member is removably disposed in one of the holes of the cover plate and disposed to engage the corresponding, aligned electrical switch to actuate that electrical switch.

Utilizing a data cable infrastructure to provide power includes a detector to determine whether data cables in the data cable infrastructure are being used by a data service provider, a circuit to determine an amount of power that can be provided on each of a number of wires within the data cables, and an adjustable power supply of a power system to selectively provide power over the wires within the data cables in the amount determined by the circuit and based on whether the detector determines the data cables to be in use by the data service provider.

A device for scanning a first image on a document surface and printing a second image on the document surface comprising a mechanism operable to engage a document and drive the document along a feed path, a scanner apparatus operable to generate a scanned image of the first image on the document surface as the document is driven past the scanner apparatus during a first document traversal of the feed path, and a printer apparatus operable to print the second image on the document surface as the document is driven past the printer apparatus during the traversal of the document through the feed path is provided.

Image capture device control marks are automatically generated within a computer or printer and automatically printed on pages output from the printer. The control marks when detected by a control mark capable image capture device communicate information to the image capture device such as which areas of the printed page are text that require optical character recognition, which areas of the page are photos that require high-resolution full-color, which areas of the page are line drawings that require medium-resolution black and white, and which areas of the page are not to be scanned. Image capture device control marks may be configured in a wide range of sizes, styles, and locations on the printed page.

Method and apparatus for the automatic generation of image capture device control marks

A print media having a first sheet that is elastic about a plane of its printable surface is adhered to a second sheet that is rigid about the plane of the printable surface. The two sheets are separable such that the first sheet may be separated from the second sheet after transferring a desired image to the printable surface. By transferring an image to the printable surface of the first sheet, and by subsequently removing the second sheet, a stretchable image is produced on the first sheet.

An electrically variable optical filter includes a first optical element including a first angled face and a second optical element including a second angled face. The second angled face is substantially parallel to and spaced apart from the first angled face. At least one separation actuator is affixed between the first optical element and the second optical element and is operable to change a separation distance D between the first angled face and the second angled face. Light waves transmitted through the first optical element are selectively transmitted through to or reflected away from the second optical element as a function of wavelength and the separation distance D.
