Disclosed are apparatuses, systems, and methods for urging matching rotational orientations of geophysical sensors in a marine geophysical streamer. An embodiment discloses a marine geophysical streamer comprising a jacket; spacers disposed longitudinally within the jacket, the spacers containing geophysical sensors; and an alignment preserver disposed within the jacket, the alignment preserver encompassing at least a portion of each of the spacers and configured to urge matching rotational orientations for the geophysical sensors.

An example system can comprise autonomous submarines and an auxiliary station including a power supply. Each autonomous submarine can include a respective power supply and a respective marine survey node coupled thereto. The auxiliary station can be configured to dock the autonomous submarines in a body of water and recharge the respective power supply of each of the autonomous submarines via the power supply of the auxiliary station. Each autonomous submarine can be configured to autonomously navigate from and return to the auxiliary station and position the respective marine survey node on an underwater surface.

Modular system for deployment and retrieval of marine survey nodes

A system for ocean bottom node (OBN) deployment can include a first deployment device located on a marine vessel, a second deployment device located on the marine vessel, a first line coupled to the first deployment device and comprising a first plurality of OBNs, and a second line coupled to the second deployment device and comprising a second plurality of OBNs. The first deployment device and the second deployment device can be configured to deploy and retract the first line and the second line simultaneously.

Ocean bottom node deployment

An example autonomous marine survey node can include a circuitry component including circuitry of a marine survey receiver, a ballast tank coupled to the circuitry component, and a maneuvering system coupled to the circuitry component. The ballast tank can be configured to adjust a buoyancy of the autonomous marine survey node. The maneuvering system can be configured to autonomously perform aerial maneuvers and autonomously perform submersed maneuvers near an underwater surface.

An apparatus can include a base assembly and a pivot assembly coupled to the base assembly. The apparatus can include a carriage coupled to the pivot assembly. The carriage can be shaped to receive a compass streamer telemetry unit (CSTU). The carriage can be configured to secure the CSTU. The pivot assembly can be rotatably coupled to the base assembly to adjust a pitch of the carriage. The carriage can be rotatably coupled to the pivot assembly to adjust roll of the carriage.

Calibration of streamer navigation equipment

Coupling of geophysical sensor cable sections. At least some of the example embodiments are methods including coupling a first geophysical sensor cable section to a second geophysical sensor cable section. The coupling may be by: telescoping a first connector of the first geophysical sensor cable section into a second connector, the first connector comprising a male connector portion with external threads, and the second connector comprising a coupling ring with internal threads; abutting a first portion of a clam-shell gear against the coupling ring; closing the clam-shell gear such that a second portion of the clam-shell gear abuts the coupling ring, the clam-shell gear defining gear teeth on an outside diameter of the clam-shell gear; mating a pinion gear to the clam-shell gear; and turning the coupling ring relative to the male connector portion using of the pinion gear turning the clam-shell gear.
