A well-logging system includes a downhole tool coupled to a cable. The downhole tool may measure physical parameters of a wellbore via a first plurality of sensors. The well-logging system may include wellbore equipment including a winch. The winch may traverse the downhole tool through the wellbore by spooling or unspooling the cable. The well-logging system may also include a second plurality of sensors that may measure operational parameters of the wellbore equipment. The well-logging system may further include an automation controller that is communicatively coupled to the first plurality of sensors and the second plurality of sensors. A set of defined operating instructions may be prepared during the assembly of the job. The automation controller may control the wellbore equipment based at least in part on feedback from the first plurality of sensors, feedback from the second plurality of sensors, and the defined operating instructions.

Wireline automation systems and methods

A method for remediating a microannulus in a cased wellbore may include conveying a downhole tool into the cased wellbore to a location of interest. The location of interest may include one or more perforations in a casing and a microannulus. The downhole tool may include a heat generation device. The method may also include activating the heat generation device to melt a fill material at the location of interest such that the fill material flows through the perforations into one or more voids, including the microannulus, in or around cement disposed between the casing and the cased wellbore. Additionally, the method may include deactivating the heat generation device to facilitate solidification of the fill material in the one or more voids and sealing of the microannulus.

Systems and methods for remediating a microannulus in a wellbore

A method of deploying a cable into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation that includes providing a cable. The cable includes an insulated conductor; an armor wire layer surrounding the insulated conductor; and a polymeric material disposed in interstitial spaces formed between armor wires forming the armor wire layer, and in interstitial spaces formed between the at least one armor wire layer and the at least one insulated conductor. The method also includes introducing the cable into a wellbore and performing at least one operation in the wellbore utilizing the cable.

Methods of using enhanced wellbore electrical cables

An embodiment of a method of deploying a cable into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation comprises providing a cable, wherein the cable comprises at least one insulated conductor, at least one armor wire layer surrounding the insulated conductor, a polymeric material disposed in interstitial spaces formed between armor wires forming the at least one armor wire layer, and interstitial spaces formed between the at least one armor wire layer and insulated conductor, the polymeric material forming a continuously bonded layer which separates and encapsulates the armor wires forming the at least one armor wire layer, and whereby the polymeric material is extended to form a smooth polymeric jacket around the at least one armor wire layer, introducing the cable into a wellbore and performing at least one operation in the wellbore utilizing the cable.

An intervention tool for use inside a wellbore is provided that includes an intervention module capable of performing an intervention operation downhole, and a drive electronics module in communication with the intervention module and configured to control the intervention module. The tool also includes one or more sensors which measure at least one operational parameter of the intervention operation during the intervention operation. The intervention operation is optimized based on the measured at least one operational parameter.

A downhole tool is provided that includes a grip assembly for contacting a well formation. The grip assembly includes a gripper body; and a centralizer that is attached to and radially expandable with respect to the gripper body and that has a geometry which is lockable by a locking device. The grip assembly also includes a force amplifier in force transmitting relation with the centralizer, wherein the force amplifier transfers a force in a first direction to a much larger force in a second direction when the centralizer is locked by the locking device.

An unsticking assembly for releasing a tool that is stuck in a wellbore including a first anchor actuatable between an engaging position wherein the first anchor engages a wall of the wellbore and a retracted position wherein the first anchor does not engage the wall; a second anchor actuatable between an engaging position wherein the second anchor engages a wall of the wellbore and a retracted position wherein the second anchor does not engage the wall; and a control module in connection with the first and second anchor to selectively actuate each anchor between the engaged and retracted positions. The assembly is adapted for positioning in the wellbore and in connection with the tool when the tool is stuck in the wellbore. The assembly may be a stand-alone assembly that is connectable to the tool after the tool is stuck in the wellbore. The assembly may include the wellbore tool as an interconnected element.

System and method for unsticking a tool stuck in a wellbore

An embodiment of a cutting tool positionable in a tubular for creating a cut in a tubular includes a body securable within the tubular and a cutting head having a nozzle for discharging a pressurized cutting fluid, wherein the cutting head is rotationally and axially moveable relative to the body. The cutting tool may further include one or more of a positioning mechanism, a linear actuator in connection with the cutting head, a rotary actuator in connection with the cutting head, a cutting fluid pump, a mechanism for mixing a fluid and an abrasive to form the abrasive cutting fluid, and reservoirs for storing the abrasive cutting fluid or for storing a fluid and the abrasive separately.

Abrasive jet cutting system and method for cutting wellbore tubulars

A method for assembling a stackable perforating gun system inside a well bore is provided that includes attaching a first gun section of the stackable perforating gun system to a tracking assembly, and transporting the first gun section within the well bore using the tracking assembly. The method also includes disengaging the first gun section from the tracking assembly; retrieving the tracking assembly to the surface; attaching a second gun section of the stackable perforating gun system to the tracking assembly; transporting the second gun section within the well bore using the tracking assembly; and coupling the second gun section with the first gun section using the tracking assembly.
