An apparatus for interfacing with an RF/microwave subsystem is provided. The apparatus includes a printed circuit board that includes: a controller, and a connector constructed to provide control signals and power signals to a subsystem in accordance with instructions from the controller, and a mechanical interface constructed to provide a mechanical connection between the subsystem and the printed circuit board.

Methods and apparatuses for interfacing microwave circuits

An explosive detonator capable of initiating fuze explosive trains remotely by radiant energy from a flash of light impinging upon the surface of explosive.

Light initiated detonator

A kinetically multicolored light source is described, comprising: a light source capable of producing a plurality of primary colors; oscillatory means for driving said light source; and means for moving said light source. The oscillatory driving means may drive the light source so that one or more of the primary colors is alternately turned on and off at a frequency above the critical fusion frequency of an observer, whereby each of the colors appears to emanate simultaneously and continuously thereby appearing to the observer as a single secondary color when the light source moves slowly with respect to the observer. The light source may move relative to the observer sufficiently rapidly that each of the oscillating primary colors if viewed alone would appear to the observer to emanate from bright segments of a curvilinear path with intervening dark segments. When viewed together the path segments for each of the primary colors may spatially overlap to varying degrees depending on the relative frequency, amplitude, phase, and duty cycle at which each of the primary colors is produced. The observer may therefore observe a myriad of color alternation pattern along the curvilinear path, which may comprise one or more of: dark segments, bright primary color segments, and bright secondary color segments. Thus, by moving the light source sufficiently rapidly relative to the observer, visually striking, intriguing, and/or pleasing multicolored illuminated displays may be produced by a light source which appears monocolored when moving relatively slowly relative to the observer.

Kinetically multicolored light source

An acoustic emission contact fuze that is responsive to high-frequency actic emission stress waves and distinguishes between such waves caused by impacts and signals caused by the operating environment.

Acoustic emission contact fuze with signal processing capability

A system for selecting the mode of detonating a cluster warhead. The warh consists of a number of bomblets which are configured to be packaged into a warhead cannister. An explosive switch is initiated which permanently opens the dispersing circuit and prevents the bomblets from being dispensed and the warhead is exploded in the unitary mode. Failure to open the dispersing circuit will permit the warhead to disperse and each bomblet will explode individually.

Adaptive ordnance system

An apparatus for providing ignition of rocket motors by using sequenced iiation to an explosive logic network that is fail safe in case of accidental initiation. The explosive logic network has a multiplicity of input detonators for ignition of the explosive logic in a predetermined time program which must be accomplished in a specific ignition sequence to achieve a single explosive output to ignite the rocket motor squib and fire the motor. A deviation from the predetermined timed sequence or ignition of one or more of the input detonators will dud the system causing a fail safe condition of the logic network that prevents rocket motor ignition.

Safe rocket motor igniter using sequenced initiation to an explosive

An air droppable, air-tight warhead cannister containing a plurality of prranged bomblets, each bomblet having a novel pressure-sensitive fuze capable of being committed to an 'armed' position by the presence of a predetermined fluid pressure in the cannister, and advanced to a fully 'armed' position when said fluid pressure is dissipated and said bomblets dispersed from their prearranged disposition within the cannister.

A semiactive bomblet fuze having both contact and proximity fuze capability or a free-fall weapon, and utilizing both a gyro-rotor aligning fuze train and an optical lens for initiating a light sensitive explosive detonator.

Optical, semi-active bomblet fuze

A pressure-armed, semiactive bomblet fuze, having both contact and proxim-fuze capability for a free-fall weapon, and utilizing both a gyro aligning fuze train and a photocell transducer for directly initiating an electric detonator.

Semi-active electro-optical bomblet fuze

An air droppable sealed warhead cannister capable of housing a plurality of omblets, each bomblet having a pressure-sensitive fuze capable of being controlled by the presence and absence of a predetermined pressure in the cannister.
