Sealed rear-loaded electrical connector housings, assemblies and systems are disclosed. The housing includes a connector having a TPA cap including an aperture and a TPA leg, a rear wire seal including a wire aperture and a TPA leg aperture, and a housing including a positioning surface. In a pre-loaded configuration, the rear wire seal is inserted into the housing, and the TPA cap is mounted onto the housing with the aperture aligned with the wire aperture and the TPA leg disposed at least partially in the TPA leg aperture. In a loaded configuration, the TPA cap is mounted deeper onto and locked in place on the housing, and the TPA leg passes through the TPA leg aperture forming a water-tight seal with the TPA leg aperture. The assembly includes the connector and a wire-crimped terminal disposed in the connector. The system includes a first connector and a second connector.

Sealed rear-loaded electrical connector housings, assemblies, and systems

An electrical connector assembly which has a first connector and a second connector. The first connector and second connector have connector housings with first latching areas extending from the top surfaces of the connector housings and second latching areas extending from the bottom surfaces of the connector housing. Sealing members are positioned proximate wire-receiving faces of the connector housings. Rear seal cover members are positioned in the connector housings. The rear seal cover members are configured to cooperate with the sealing members to prevent the rear seal cover members from being latched to the connector housing when the terminals are not fully inserted into the terminal receiving cavities of the connector housings.

Stacking electrical connector

A cage assembly is provided for receiving a pluggable module. The cage assembly includes a cage having a front end, a mounting side, and an internal compartment. The front end is open to the internal compartment of the cage. The internal compartment is configured to receive the pluggable module therein through the front end. A heat sink is mounted to the mounting side of the cage. The heat sink has a module side that is configured to thermally communicate with the pluggable module. An electromagnetic interference (EMI) gasket extends along at least a portion of an interface between the mounting side of the cage and the module side of the heat sink. The EMI gasket includes electrically conductive spring fingers that are engaged with and electrically connected to the mounting side of the cage.

A cage is provided for a receptacle assembly that includes a receptacle connector. The cage includes a die cast body having side walls that are spaced apart to define an internal compartment of the die cast body therebetween. The die cast body has a front end that is open to the internal compartment of the die cast body. The internal compartment is configured to receive the receptacle connector therein. The internal compartment is configured to receive a pluggable module therein through the front end. An alignment plate is mounted to the die cast body. The alignment plate includes an alignment segment that extends between the side walls to form a bottom wall of the cage. The alignment segment includes an alignment surface that defines a bottom boundary of the internal compartment of the die cast body.

A cable assembly includes a housing having a mating end and a cable end and receives a cable through the cable end. The housing has a mounting block proximate to the cable end. A ferrule is configured to be terminated to the cable. The ferrule has an inner bushing and an outer bushing, with the inner and outer bushings cooperating to capture a cable braid of the cable therebetween. The ferrule is retained within the mounting block such that the ferrule is housed interior of the housing.

A latch assembly for a pluggable electronic module matable with a receptacle assembly includes a lever actuatable between a latched position and an unlatched position, a yoke assembly operatively coupled to the lever, and a latch element coupled to the latch end of the yoke assembly. The yoke assembly has a latch end rotatable between a latched position and an unlatched position. The latch element is movable between an engaged position and an unengaged position as the latch end is rotated between the latched and unlatched positions, respectively. The latch element is configured to engage the receptacle assembly to lock the pluggable electronic module within the receptacle assembly when the latch element is in the engaged position.
