A system may include (i) a database disposed within a computational instance of a remote network management platform that manages a managed network and (ii) server device(s) associated with the computational instance. The database is configured to store records related to issues with configuration items of the managed network, each record assigned to one of a plurality of states including: a first state for newly-opened records, a second state for records undergoing assessment, a third state for records undergoing root cause analysis, a fourth state for records with a fix in progress, a fifth state for resolved records, and a sixth state for closed records. Additionally, the server device(s) are configured to generate and provide graphical user interface panes to a client device associated with the managed network, each of the graphical user interface panes corresponding to one of the plurality of states for a particular record.

The present disclosure is related to a case management application that may be utilized by a user to open a service case associated with a service event. The case management application may receive information associated with the service case and/or the user to provide a recommended action to address the service event. In some embodiments, the case management application may access a recommendation tool that includes a trend model that may be used by the case management application to determine the recommended action. A designer may be able to modify the recommendation tool and/or the trend model accessed by the case management application to adjust how the case management application determines a recommended action to provide to the user.

The present disclosure provides systems and methods for classifying incidents based on determining an odds ratio that represents a likelihood of an incident being related to the problem, classifying incidents based on determining a decision tree that forms branches based on whether a feature is present in the incident, and predicting whether a new incident is related to a problem. Features may be extracted from a set of incidents (e.g., that are reported over a certain time period) that include incidents related to a problem and incidents not related to the problem. The incidents related to the problem and a portion of the incidents not related to the problem may be used to train a logistic regression model or generate a decision tree. The trained logistic regression model may be used to determine the odds ratios or predict whether a new incident is related to a problem.

A system may include a database and server device(s), where the database contains incident record(s) that include information about reported issues, as well as information resource(s) related to the issue(s) and organized into categories, and where the server device(s): provide a graphical user interface (GUI) that comprises (i) a first pane including information from a particular incident record and (ii) a second pane including a search field and a menu enabling selection from the categories; receive a keyword entered in the search field and a selection of categories from the menu; provide an updated representation of the GUI in which the second pane shows search results based on the keyword and including information resource(s) from selected categories, where the information resource(s) are respectively associated with controls; and, responsive to activation of a control, store a link between the particular incident record and the information resource associated with this control.
